I attempted to do some reading.
I attempted to read up on the company policies and procedures. I read them at least 5 times. I looked at the bulletin board in the intranet and found a few things to look at. For example, all of the important people my parents can contact if there is an emergency. I decided that was important. Okay, now for the rest of the day, my mind started to wander. With music in my ears and my colleague nodding in her cubicle trying to pretend she is tying her shoes, the day did not have promising results. It's not like our superiors didn't know we were in a lull. They were very well aware of our dry spell.
What did I do? I found that stretching my legs was a good idea. I trolled the hallway towards the break-room. I decided that instant coffee was my best bet. I wanted to see what would happen. I needed to get the blood flowing to my legs. Not only was I having issues with the day, I was trying to figure out what the next issue of my newsletter should be about. As I say hello to my co-worker sitting at the table waiting for her food in the microwave, I finally decide to stop fighting the feeling that it's going to be a slow day. I get back to my desk without delay keeping my eyes focused on a blank piece of paper. That is how the picture at the top of this story was born. I see so many things at work that I started drawing random images of my colleagues.
It seams crazy I know. Look they look nothing like my co-workers but I sit in a cubicle so my point of view is in the short side. Besides I am not that tall. Well, okay I'm short. Gee. Anyway, I guess you're wondering why there are so many eyes on the image. Well look at below as I try to explain.
The Eyes that look like an umbrella around my blue haired lady in there, they represent all of the superiors and colleagues walking around the office. That odd looking eye on her face means there is an ally in the office that would give you hints if there is something you should be made aware of. The eye that is hovering over to your right means there is someone always looking over your shoulder. The rest of the image kind of took control of itself.
Well, to conclude I really let my mind wander on this one. I um, had to get back on track at the end of the day when the work came in. Please do not do this at your work station. I advise that you practice typing or practice the office programs .I don't know if you noticed but there is a coffee stain on my picture. Well that was when a colleague came over and spilled it by accident. I know better now. I keep a drawing journal. When my mind wanders I draw it.
