The Story of Sir Gareth and the Three Mystics

Back Ground: Sir Gareth lives in Medieval England in the Royal City of Camelot serving under King Arthur. In this story there will be elements of Merlin and his enemy Queen Mab of the Old Ways and Also elements of Morgan La Fey, a once royal and sister to king Arthur, now an outcast for her beliefs in the old ways of Magic and Witchery.

Our Story Begins at a fest being held at the Hall of King Arthur in his High Castle, the Feast is a welcome home celebration for Sir Gareth, after his trip to Spain to slay a Mighty dragon. At the feast Sir Gareth and his family are welcomed and feed as if they were the King and Queen of England.

The hall is all a bustle with laughter and marry as Sir Gareth returned Victorious once again. The Madams all dressed from their head to their heels in garments fit for a Queen for this is how King Arthur demanded it. The food is prepared by the best Chefs in the all of Western Europe for that is how King Arthurs Wife insists it to be. The Hall was set for King Arthurs Noble family to sit next to Sir Gareth's family which was a great honor in these days.

During Dinner King Arthur tells Sir Gareth that he has a City north east of Camelot called Canterbury that he would like Sir Gareth to be ruler over. However Arthur also tells Sir Gareth he may only be ruler of Canterbury if he can ride Canterbury of all of the evil that has plagued the city. King Arthur tells Sir Gareth, "my Hag of a sister was reported see in the city of Canterbury and I would like her in Chains, if you do this for me, you will be the greatest knight that ever lived." Sir Gareth is taken aback at first to this offer. After him and his wife, who is a skilled hunter and black smith which is uncommon in these days confers, they decided he will accept the offer and travel to Canterbury in a fortnight.

King Arthur stands up and says to the Crowed, "my good people of the court of Camelot, Sir Gareth and I have come to an agreement in return for land and fame Sir Gareth and Lady Gareth will leave us to ride us of the evil of Canterbury and bring back Morgan La Fey to face Punishment for her misdeeds to the Court and Crown of Camelot.". The Nobles of the Hall of King Arthur cheer and shout "Sir Gareth, Sir Gareth, Sir Gareth" the chanting continues until some one King Arthur Had not seen in years appeared out of thin air it was Merlin.

"I have come to help the people ride the evil of Canterbury!" exclaimed Merlin. With these words Merlin walked to King Arthur with is long blue starry robe and pointy wizard hat shimmering with stars and moons. Merlin Pulled out his wand and said, "I will be the one to put a stop to Queen Mab and Lady lay Fey and that will be my last task on this earth." King Arthur and the members of the court of Camelot were all shocked at Merlin's final remarks. Every one in Camelot new that Camelot was protected by the Knights of the Round Table and the magic of Merlin. These words scared King Arthur but he did not show any sign of fear.

Merlin looked at Sir Gareth and Lady Gareth and proclaim, "In three Days you two shall come to my cave at the edge of the sea and we will set of for Canterbury. The roads are dangerous and the people are treacherous and you cannot hope to survive with out me." After Merlin's last word he disappeared into a gray clowned and vanished all together.

King Arthur, Sir Gareth, and the rest of the court of Camelot clapped and cheered and then finished there meals and went to there courters for bed. While King Arthur and Sir Gareth stayed up talking about the adventure that awaited Sir Gareth and about how Merlin was never wrong. Lady Gareth came into the room where Sir Gareth and King Arthur were talking and as she came in King Arthur and Sir Gareth stud to there feet to welcome The Lady. They talked for most of the night and at the end of the night King Arthur gave to Sir Gareth a box with a Pentangle on it the simple of the quality's of a Knight. The box was long and skinny and Arthur had told him not to open it till Sir Gareth needed help, for what was in that box would truly help in a crisis.

Two days when by in a blink of and eye and Sir Gareth and His Wife when as they were told to Merlin's cave at the sea shore. From there they ventured in to the cave where they were greeted by little balls of light that were leading them further and further in to the cave. When they had gone for what seemed like hours they finally came to a stop at a stone door that had runes on it that neither of them could read. Sir Gareth Called Out, "Merlin the Great, Sir Gareth and Lady Gareth have come as you have asked!" A voice that sound like Merlin whispered, "You are Early I am not ready yet give me to Seconds", Waa Bam! Merlin appeared with his Blue Starry Wizard robe and His Starry Wizard Hat and asked, "are you ready for your worst nightmare.", Sire Gareth States, "my wife and I have faced many dragons together we are ready for what ever you need or wish us to do.", Merlin Replied, "yes, Yes, the Noble Knight and his victory over the Spanish dragon how extraordinarily boring. You will be tested is many new ways just keep your promises and allegiances and you will succeed." And with these words they were off.

They had been traveling for day with out anything to eat and very little to drink, they traveled through rain and snow and mud and when they came across a women in the road dressed in all black. Sir Gareth asked "what is your name and your business out here do you need some help." the women replied, "I am The First Mystic and my business is my own. Give me a trinket and I can tell you your future." Merlin butted in and Said, "No thank you, Madam Mystic, we have places to go." As Merlin and the Gareths walked away, Lady Gareth looked back and the Mystic had vanished Lay Gareth Tells Merlin but Merlin seams not to care.

The company comes to a small village where about forty people live and as they are walking through the small village they come across another women clothed in black. Sir Gareth stands in front of his wife and Merlin and ask the women, "what is your name and what is your business in this little village." The Women replies, "I am the second Mystic and for a trinket I will guide you to Canterbury. "," how you know we are on our way to Canterbury." said Sir Gareth, then the Mystic said, "I didn't but I do now" she laughed with an evil chuckle and disappeared. Merlin Said, "There are three Mystics each with a price for there service but there service is neither needed nor wanted they are witches so they answer to Morgan La fey and Queen Mab.

On third day of their second week of their travel Merlin tells them they are almost there just about hours walk. They make it to the gate of Canterbury and Smell rotten food and an odor that is like something had been died and rotting for a long time. Merlin pulled form his robe pocket a staff about the same high as him and touched it to the great gate and it opened. Once the gate was open Sir Gareth walked in to the city of Canterbury very consciously then he saw a woman clothed in black approach him. She said, "What is your name and what is your business in Canterbury." A little taken aback by these questions Sir Gareth replies, "My name is Sir Gareth and my business is my own." At his replied the women turn on her heels and disappeared just like the others had done only this one came back about a minute later out a cloud of black smoke and said I am the third Mystic and my sisters have seen you. I will protect you from Queen Mab if you have a trinket to trade. Sir Gareth thought of the box that King Arthur had given him. Then Merlin Asks a Question of the Third Mystic he says, "Where is your Queen and your Mistress bring them to me." The Mystic Replies you must get past us before we can grant your wish."Says the Mystic.

Then the Three Mystics appear speaking in unison stating again and again, "We are the Mystics protectors of the old ways you will parish before the sun rises." Then Merlin Shouts, "You are not mystics you are the Morgans, created by Morgan Lay Fey to destroy people's hopes and force them to follow the old ways. Morgan will not have her way this time I have found her son and he is six feet under the ground she has no real power. She couldn't even protect her evil son." Sir Gareth and His wife prepare their weapons for battle. The Morgans through spells and enchantment at Sir Gareth and his wife but they are deflected by Merlin. The Morgans target Merlin and start attacking only him. When Merlin realizes that he is being attacked by all three he Shots, "that is quiet enough" and with a wave of his hand and the word, Explendro-morganous" the Morgans fall to the ground and cry to their creator uttering, "Morgan help use, oh Great Morgan La Fey" Morgan La Fey appeared alongside Queen Mab. The Morgans Disappeared and all was left was Queen Mab and Morgan La Fey Facing, Merlin and Sir Gareth and Lady Gareth.

Queen Mab hisses at Merlin, "you have no power here, this is my domain" and Merlin tells her, "you blood will be spilled today and you will be no more just an old memory." Merlin Tells Sir Gareth to open the box that King Arthur gave him. Sir Gareth opens the box and inside he sees a sword with the words "the Great Sword of King Arthur, Excalibur." Sir Gareth pulls the sword from its scabbard and swings it at Queen Mab knocking her to her feet. Then Merlin cast a vanquishing spell over Queen Mab. She slowly fades in to dust and is go. Shocked by what has just happen Morgan La Fey uses what little power she has but it is no use Merlin Freezes her and Sir Gareth Chains her up in Magical Chains that cannot be broken.

Soon after this, Canterbury returns to is glorious youth, before Queen Mab had come and destroyed it, and Sir Gareth and Lady Gareth are welcomed as ruler of Canterbury, Merlin disappeared and has not been seen since that fateful day, Morgan La Fey sits in Prison at The Crown city of Camelot and all lived happily ever after.
