The Story Unfolding: A Work in Progress

no deep dark secrets to share

But I've loved deeply

and often too

albeit quite misguidedly

I've been passionate about a lot of things

Hate may be a strong word

but sometimes it's accurate

I've spent many nights feeling empty and lonely inside

but only after spending a few

believing I was finally fulfilled

I've not found true happiness yet

Not on my own much less with another

Maybe I won't ever have a story of my own to tell

maybe I will never live the life that great stories are made of

maybe I will have to settle for giving voice to another's story

using my words to share the tales

of someone less fortunate than I

someone who has weathered greater storms

someone who has found greater happiness

and known a greater sense of loss

But I'm still seeking my true story

I'm still searching for my own great tale
