The Straight Path

Donna Cavanagh
No turns, no curves, no detours ahead
No questions about our destination
No second thoughts or even second chances
No mysteries to solve; no reason for hesitation

Imagine a life with no obstacles
No challenges to face and defeat
No reason to give that extra effort
The taste of victory would not be so sweet

We hate challenges when they arise
They complicate life and stir feelings of frustration
They force us to dream and open our hearts
They raise our hopes and expectations

Without the challenges, there can be no victory
No triumphs, no celebrations to enjoy or embrace
Life would be boring on that one straight path
To appreciate the wins, we need obstacles to face

Great points in all these verses Donna. I am going to go back to school and try for my masters while working full time! I was told it will be tough. Yes, but if it were easy, I said, everyone would have a masters! LOL Great work as usual.
