The Stranded Passenger

Sitting on an airplane for 5 hours or more is not fun. Neither is sleeping in an airport without a change of clothes.

Screaming kids, crying babies, and elderly people suffering, because the airlines don't believe in a common word. Respect.

Respect for mankind, I'm more than just a ticket number. I don't know about you but unless you are in first class my legs get cramped, and butt hurts after 2 ½ hours, and unless the plane is moving they turn off the forced air so the compartment gets hot. Sounds like a moving van to you? Well most people only experience moving vans in the front seat as the driver. I have never heard of anyone ever wanting to ride in the back of a U-haul...(unless you are trying to cross the border, but the is a later discussion) What I am talking about is the decency to treat people like they have needs, the needs for food, water, and fresh air.

While the flight attendants, pilots and co-pilots have the liberty to open the rear-door at will to take a peak outside, the passenger does not, and thus we have the stranded passenger.

I would love to wave my trusty pen and make it go away, but I can not. Only through legislative change, or at least a long shot, a change in airline business model can this issues that has gotten way out of control, be managed. Are there flight delays due to weather? Yes, but you could at least accommodate the people who have paid to use your service and have no were to go. They cannot retrieve their lugged once checked; and they would be damned to leave the terminal to be cotton swabbed by the TSA agents again (yuck). So what are stranded passenger suppose to do. Please tell me.
