Looking for fun things to do this summer in Ohio? If you like food, games, music, arts and crafts, rides and more then check out these local events for 2009.Great places to take the family and everyone will have a good time.If interested in attending any of these events, I would suggest contacting the festival as soon as possible for reservations if needed. Plan ahead call and make the necessary arrangements and get driving directions. Give plenty of travel time as traffic may be heavier on festival days.

Banana Split Festival
Wilmington, County, Ohio

Banana Split Festival held in Wilmington, Ohio. 50's and 60's collectibles, arts and crafts, games, great food, old time rock & roll music, are just a few of the activities, including a huge car show featuring muscle cars from the post-World War II era. Summer Concert - Quaker City Band
The Quaker City Band is performing at the Salem Civic Center Band Shell, in Waterworth Memorial Park starting at 6:00pm to 7:30pm. Free to the public.

This festival, celebrating its 27th anniversary, is Wed-Sat after Father's Day, in downtown London. Lots of strawberry foods including strawberry shortcake. Rides, games, Wednesday and Saturday parades, free kids contests, art, food, baking contests, kiddie tractor pull, Bicycle Tour, Baby, Little, Young, Junior, and Miss Strawberry contests, AC Cobra event benefiting Cystic Fibrosis. Willard's Festival in the Park
Willard, Huron County, Ohio

July 1 - 4, 2009

This festival features four days of entertainment and fun! Lisko Amusements providing 14 rides with special pricing on rides all night. Live bands playing every night starting at 7:00 p.m. The main attraction has shows daily at 6:00, 8:00 and 10:00 p.m. Fireworks on Friday evening at 10:30 p.m. The parade is Saturday starting at 3:00 p.m.There will be food available for all festival goers. Ohio Hills Folk Festival
Quaker City, Guernsey County, Ohio

July 8 - 11, 2009

Located in the town of Quaker City is the 105th OHIO HILLS FOLK FESTIVAL. Events includes: Kiddie Parade, Mile Long Parade, Car Show, Flea Market,Queens Parade Craft Hall and craft demonstrations. A 5-K run, children's bike races, pet show, and a large fireworks display on Saturday night . Free entertainment, concessions, and rides. Held in Ripley, Ohio, The Ohio Tobacco Festival showcases the heritage of tobacco farming. Features of the festival include the opening parade, antique car show, outdoor flea market, craft show and commercial exhibits plus many food booths. The events scheduled include:the queen pageant, tobacco show, tobacco worm race, talent show, arm wrestling competition, corn hole tournament, carnival rides and Sunday prayer breakfast.     Festivals are always a fun way to spend a day. I also plan side trips near the area to make a full day out of it. Your resources are excellent.
