The Strength of Thanksgiving

Major Jester
Daily strains heaped as stones
Multiply life's fear of all the unknowns
Yet through that misty veiled fog of doubt
He manages to smile day in and day out

For he knows that though uncertainty fights
For a front row seat in his days and his nights
He thinks again of his many blessings granted
Thus another day dawns and he won't be disenchanted

Thankfulness streams forward as morning sun rays
In that instant dissipating any sense of malaise
He has family and friends, a roof over his head
A decent enough job to keep his clan fed

Some days are tougher than others he knows
But being grateful out loud banishes most woes
"Thanksgiving is not just a day" Some call the quote trite
But deep in our souls we know that it's right

It is the one day that reminds us that we have much to be thankful for. And beautifully said.

Nicely written, Major. The quote is definitely not trite. I suspected that photo of the morning rays was your work.
