In my small but comfortable home;
Footsteps echo in an empty room;
My thoughts are drifting back to you;
My love for you will forever burn;
Reminders I see everywhere I turn;
I look toward you with pleading eyes;
For my lack of faith, I apologize;
You say that I am forever in your arms;
Tightly held, safe and warm;
But how do I know if you are for real;
When air is the only thing I feel;
I am so busy, there is no time;
To slow down this racing carousel ride;
I work all night and sleep all day;
There really isn't any time to pray;
On your altar, I place a rose;
I wear a golden cross underneath my clothes;
Yet my brain questions- How can this be;
How can I love someone whom I cannot see;
You say that I am forever in your arms;
Tightly held, safe and warm;
But how do I know if you are for real;
When air is the only thing I feel

I'm so sorry I missed this one. Another fine poetic piece that, like many of your others, really reflects just how much of your soul actually went into it! Excellent!
