Without the lessons learned about the Greek thought to the Roman practice, we would not understand the political development nowadays. The works of Socrates and Machiavelli would make our opinions better when it come to studying Western tradition and any political philosophies related to it.

While it is true that politics has been the oldest profession in the world, it is also acceptable that there are many people who failed to understand the importance of the works of Socrates and Machiavelli in relation to the interactions of men. The fate of Socrates is still existing today only in a different form and practice. Besides, the study of politics is not always boring as it has been considered as the history of strong, myriad concepts, and philosophies in relation to political structures and human behaviour. Since this would involve political philosophy, there will be more reflections regarding political phenomena and renowned works of political philosophers in the study of politics.

Moreover, the study of politics will also help us build deeper understanding on the political events in the society. We may also assess the roots of the armed conflicts in other parts of the world such as Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan and many more. We are also able to predict future outcomes of the actions of our government leaders within the executive, legislative, and judicial departments. Lastly, the study of politics will help us understand the economic implications of the policy-making and decision-making activities of our government leaders. Hence, the study of politics is an essential part of building a strong and progressive country.
