The Stuffed Steakhouse Burger from Burger King

A New Idea from an Old Name in Fast Food

Jay Braun
It's amazing the various things that burger restaurants and fast food restaurants try to come out with in order to get people to keep coming there and buying things despite the fact that it all is basically the same thing. Burger king now has a new burger that has the cheese and jalapeno peppers on the inside of the burger with the meat. I have eaten stuffed burgers before. They typically will have toppings in the middle. It would be like two burgers were put together and pinched around the edges to seem like it was one burger. The Stuffed Steakhouse burger has the stuffing throughout the burger. It probably is put right into the ground beef prior to shaping.

I had one the other night and found it to be pretty good. It is not something I would run right out and buy on a special trip, but I did find it good for a change. It had a generous amount of meat and the stuffing seemed to be fairly evenly distributed throughout the burger. It was like a whopper with a bit of spice, but the lettuce and tomato help keep it cool. The Stuffed Steakhouse burger comes with a beef patty mixed with diced jalapeno peppers and pieces of cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and a corn flavor roll. The corn flavor is not overpowering and it's not like cornbread, but it does have a hint of corn taste on the bun. It comes topped with spicy poblano sauce (sort of like the sauce that comes on enchilada, but with a hint of mayonnaise).

if you order one the way they are made with no substitutions you will get a burger with 600 calories, 34 grams of fat ( 12 saturated, 2 trans fat), 50 grams of carbohydrates and 26 grams of protein. Unfortunately it is not as healthy to eat as a plain grilled chicken sandwich, but it is very tasty. If you are looking for a change from the typical burger this is a pretty good choice. I am waiting to see how McDonalds tries to one up Burger King on this one.

I will have to try this. Unfortunately, our local Burger King has closed down, but I know where several others are.
