Previously the codeword for living was, 'life is short; enjoy yourselves with your family and friends. Now the codeword has been changed into, 'life is short and there are too many web sites to be enjoyed; hence, browse feverishly like a manic; share all there is to share with all the people you know or otherwise!
I am sure that the frenzy will get much worse than this and there seems to be no cure for this sharing fever in the near future as well! We move in circles, send and receive multitudes of stuff, forwarding them to the others and the chances are there that the others may even forward you some of the same stuff as well. Sometimes, the number of email ids in the 'forwarded mails' are astoundingly never- ending in numbers!
There is not much of a fresh air to be enjoyed today (possible only if you would go out!) as the magnanimous mountains, the sparkling waters, the greenish forests are available right in your laptop or in your desktop as the case may be, and hence, why to venture out to experience the physical world at all?
There is nothing predominantly wrong with sharing as such; sharing is healthy in any way. What we try to tell others by sharing is this: "Look, I had read this or had seen this; I had really enjoyed this. Just wanted you to enjoy this as well..." The message is quite simple.
But, why to get into so much of frenzy? Why to share all and sundry stuff with all and sundry in the world? There is a physical, pinch-at- painful world out there and we really are living in that world. We have family, friends, colleagues and neighbors out there. We should be meeting people in person, should go out for coffee or dinner from time to time, we should take off from work and take the family to show the new places and introduce them to the new worlds...
There is so much to do and so few years of life! Hence, why can't we keep the 'virtual sharing' business within the limits and get back to the 'really real sharing' in the actual world, where we live!
By the end of it all, what we teach our children? The world exists in our colorful system and hence why to face the realities of life? Will it be enough to be work-system, home-system and work-system again to fill-in our days?
Wherever we are going towards now, there is a need to take a break for the breath of fresh air, to really hug and touch another human being, to sit across the table and talk to some one (and not just to furiously make comments, post blogs, forward the stuff to the others all the time!) and take a real vacation from the 'sharing' in favor of the reality world! It is important for you to 'forget' to include your laptop while you prepare for your vacation!
