It was a little difficult for me to play with my disability, limiting my mobility with my hands because the default setting is for dual analog stick controls. I really have to praise the game makers here because I went into the options to see if I could switch the controls around and found that they have five different settings for the controls. My favorite being single analog stick control but with the other 4 options, it makes this game user-friendly. I'm sure most gamers can find a control setting they will like.
The second thing I noticed was the voice of Michael Clarke Duncan and how well the voiceover was done. I'm used to the voiceovers in Resident Evil games, and as much as I love them, the voiceovers are atrocious.
After playing this game, you can definitely see why video games are becoming the leaders in the entertainment industry.
Another great thing about Ties That Bind is the game play itself. You're able to have a great deal of control over your character, Torque. You can crouch and climb under things, you can run, and you can jump. Not only that, everything you do in the game has an effect on Torque. Helping or hurting others decides whether or not Torque will be evil or good and affect how powerful you are in insanity mode.
The graphics for the characters and the environment are some of the best that I have seen in a video game. Unlike some other games, you're not likely to get lost either but that's not because the environment is limited.
The storyline for the game itself is great also, but once you start playing this game, you wouldn't care if it was a bad story. Ties That Bind is just THAT fun.
Last but not least, I have to mention the weapons. Every weapon you come in contact with is very user-friendly and very lethal. This is not one of those games where the weapons are just for looks. I can't remember one time throughout the whole game when I was without a weapon and on the occasions where you do run out of ammo, there's always another gun, axe, or pipe laying around somewhere.
The only problem I have with Ties That Bind is that the game has a glitch where it freezes up from time to time but if you save frequently that's not a problem. That being said, this game is so much fun to play. Even if it does freeze up, you are not going to mind playing it again. As a matter of fact, that is the only game that I ever wanted to actually play again after I beat it.
