Where Fashion Meets Your Sweet Tooth

With the United States still in a recession, who would have thought that a company making $20+ couture lollipops would be such a success?

The Sugar Factory Couture Lollipop-What is the Sugar Factory?

The Sugar Factory opened it's first boutique in The Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on June 26th 2009. It mostly sells candies by the ΒΌ pound, chocolate bars, and women's t-shirts and tank tops with their logo on them. So far, this is the only Sugar Factory location in the United States, but there are plans to open a 12,000 square foot Sugar Factory entertainment center in Hollywood California in Fall 2009.

The Sugar Factory Couture Lollipop- What is a couture lollipop?

The Sugar Factory makes a fashion lollipop called the Couture Lollipop. This lollipop has a rhinestone encrusted handle with a large round candy pop on top. The candy comes in a plastic hinged cover so you can enjoy your pop when the sweet mood strikes you. The rhinestone handle comes in seven different colors and the candy comes in the following flavors: bubble gum, green apple, cherry, pina colada, watermelon, creamy orange, and blue raspberry. You can mix and match flavors and handles to suit your style and also buy 3-packs of refills. Cost is $22.

The Sugar Factory Couture Lollipop-Who needs a $20 lollipop?

If you're the fashionista who insists on couture yet playful accessories, The Sugar Factory Couture Lollipop is for you. To be fair, this is a steep price for a lollipop, but not for a fashion accessory. A number of celebrities have been spotted slurping on a Sugar Factory Couture Lollipop including Lindsay Lohan, Rhianna, Katy Perry, Sting, Wil i Am from Black Eyed Peas, and Scrubs star Zack Braff. If your fashion style runs along the lines of Juicy Couture, The Sugar Factory Couture Lollipop is for you.

The Sugar Factory Couture Lollipop-Signature Pops

Some female celebrities have designed their own Signature Couture Lollipops. The Pussycat Dolls Tour Signature Pop has a black handle with pink rhinestones on the top and bottom and a small heart shaped charm on the bottom of the stick. The Kim Kardashian Signature Pop comes in either a silver or gold encrusted rhinestone handle. By far, the most popular Signature Pop is for the current Britney Spears Circus Tour. The Circus pops come in a variety of colors and flavors and are being sold on her tour. These Signature Pops sell for $25 and according to the staff at the Sugar Factory, the Britney Spears Circus Tour Pop is selling for $50 at her concerts! The Spears Signature Pop is a limited edition and will not be made after the Circus Tour ends.

If a $20+ couture lollipop is something your wardrobe needs, pick up a Sugar Factory Couture Lollipop. Available at their store in Las Vegas and on line at www.sugarfactory.com. For the record, I chose the Britney Spears Circus Pop in Baby Pink for myself.

I've been to the Vegas Sugar Factory as well and anything with the name Britney Spears on it (like her or not) is a highly collectable item....BTW...they also sell the classic Topps "Wacky Packages" stickers at the counter, so to me it was a pretty cool place, not to mention the famous yellow rubber duckies are for sale in various sizes.

Lol, I'm buying one. These sound cute! I work hard for my money, so I'm pretty sure I can spend it where I choose. Great article!

Hey, to each his own, eh? My boyfriend bought one for me as a gift. Indulgent, yes. But if you have disposable cash, no harm. We're not spend thrifts otherwise.

Interesting I have never noticed these in Vegas. I would not waste my money on it nor do I understand anyone who would what a waste of money.

Stupid. There are people dying in the world from starvation and idiots with more money than sense spend on this kind of garbage. Interesting article though :-)
