The Super Bowl Matchup: Chicago Bears vs Indianapolis Colts

Hey football fans, Are you ready for some Football? The Super Bowl match up has been decided and it will certainly be a great game this year folks. The Indianapolis Colts are set to take on the Chicago Bears in the Super Bowl which will be held in Miami.

On Sunday, the Chicago Bears defeated the New Orleans Saints, a team that almost every NFL expert picked to win the game. Well, they were wrong of course and the Bears proved that they are ready to win the NFL Vince Lombardi championship trophy. The Chicago Bears beat the sentimental favorite of America as their defense rose to the occasion with four turnovers in the game including several forced fumbles for recoveries on defense.

Meanwhile, the Colts overcame their archrivals and beat the New England Patriots by a score of 38-34. Peyton Manning rose to the occasion and had a game winning drive that ended in a touchdown run by rookie Joseph Addai out of LSU. As the game clock ticked down, Tom Brady had the ball in his hands with under a minute to go. Poised to deliver the game winning touchdown drive to his team for yet another Super Bowl, the Colts defense stepped up big time and had a game saving interception.

The Super Bowl will be two weeks from Sunday as the NFL customarily gives the game an extra week break to hype up the game and get fans excited for it. The extra week also gives the host city another week to prepare for such a big event. This year, as stated before, the game will be held in Miami where the weather figures to be warm and the game will be held in beautiful conditions. Big celebrities always attend the event and this year will be no different. Tickets for this huge event have already been sold out and scalpers are selling tickets in the thousands of dollars.

The betting line on the game has not yet been released but football fans can expect the Colts to be favored in this game against the Bears. The Colts overcame the Patriots, Chiefs and Ravens, all of which were very tough teams. Meanwhile, the Bears had a one game layoff because of the bye and they played the Saints and Seahawks. The spread for the game on the betting line will probably favor the Colts by a touchdown although that betting line will move constantly in both directions as the game gets closer. The Super Bowl is the biggest betting night in all of Sports as there are office pools, online betting, and house party bets.

The Super Bowl game will also be historic because it marks for the first time ever two African American coaches playing against each other in the Super Bowl. There are currently seven African American coaches in the NFL but the collegiate ranks have a very small amount of African American coaches. There are less than seven African American coaches in college football which is a disgrace considering that there are over one hundred Division one football teams. Minority coaches seem to get a raw deal and hopefully, the representation of two African American coaches in the Super Bowl will prove that any coach can get the job done no matter what race or skin color you are.

My guess as to how this game will go is that the Colts will win. My gut feeling is that this game will be a rout but if the Chicago Defense plays well against Peyton Manning and keeps the Bears in the game, it will be close. The Bears offense has played well but Rex Grossman is due for a bad game and he is simply not that good of a quarterback. Peyton Manning has waited his entire career to make it to the Super Bowl and he has not come to lose. Tony Dungy and Peyton Manning will win this game. Final score: Colts 27, Bears 20
