The Swan House is a beautiful, old, historic home in Loveland, Colorado. It is located in downtown Loveland at 317 East 6th Street.

Filled with antiques and collectibles, the Swan House is an elegant tea room and a lovely place to host small events. It is a perfect setting for a bridal shower, wedding rehearsal dinner, anniversary, or club luncheon.

My own personal experience with the Swan House was when I hosted a bridal shower for my daughter there. I wanted to do something special and a little bit different for my daughter's shower. As I contemplated over where to host the shower, I came across a posting in our local newspaper about the Swan House. After speaking to the owner and taking a tour of the house, I was sold on the idea of a tea party for her shower.

The Swan House took care of all the food for the shower. They served traditional high tea finger sandwiches, pastries, and scones with clotted cream and jam. They also served tea, of course, and it was the most delicious tea I had ever tasted.

The décor of the Swan House is very feminine and elegant, so there was no need for additional decorations. The tables were beautifully set with linen tablecloths and napkins. Flowers in delicate swan shaped vases adorned each table. The plates, cups, saucers, and teapots were different at every table, adding to the ambiance of the cozy tea house.

Since I did not have to worry about food or decorations, I focused on making invitations to the shower on our computer. In addition, my husband and I made a special invitation for our daughter. We found an old video of her hosting a tea party for us when she was about four years old. My husband put it on a DVD and added footage of me inviting her to the tea party bridal shower.

I wanted to make favors for each guest to take home. I was able to find small, plastic swans at a local hobby store. With the help of a good friend, I wrapped several candy kisses in circles of white netting, tied the netting closed with ribbon and attached fake wedding rings to each favor. The wrapped kisses fit into the little swans and made a perfect favor to give our guests at the Swan House.

The shower turned out beautiful. It was great not to have to worry about food and decorations. The cost was very reasonable which made the Swan House a wise choice.

Besides being a venue for small events, the Swan House also serves lunch on Fridays and Saturdays from 11:30 to 2:00. For more information or to view pictures of this lovely, historic home visit: http://www.theswanhouse.com/
