Romantic Valentine's Day Desserts

Warning: This is not a G rated event, so beware.

Okay, so you are tired of the same old heart shaped box of chocolates and the dinner at a fancy restaurant. Well why not make your significant other remember this Valentine's Day for the rest of their life! I'm going to give you a step by step approach to getting yourself ready and giving them a feast for their eyes and stomach. If your mate is home, send them out for about two hours so you can get ready.

Here is your menu for the grocery store:
Fruit platter
Heavy whipping cream
Semi sweet chocolate chips or a large Hershey's chocolate bar

Homemade whipped cream is so easy to make and it beats the stuff in the freezer section of the grocery store any day! What you will need is a small container of heavy whipping cream and that can be found in the same section as the milk and half and half. Pour your heavy whipping cream into a bowl; add about 2 tablespoons of sugar/splenda and 1 teaspoon of vanilla to the bowl. Grab your electric mixer and whip the mixture until it firms up. Put this in the fridge to let it chill for a while.

Next is chocolate. I'm not going to let you have boring chocolate this time; we are going to have a nice deviation from the norm. Go to the baking section of the grocery store and buy a bag of the semi sweet chocolate chips or a large Hershey's chocolate bar. You can melt the chocolate one of two ways. You can either use the microwave for a couple of minutes or you can make a double boiler on the stove by taking a small pot of water and putting a heat safe glass bowl on top of that. Turn the stove on about medium high so that the water in the bottom of the pot is boiling. What you are trying to achieve here is the water is boiling and the steam is heating up the bottom of the bowl and melting the chocolate. So, either one you choose will be fine. You may need to reheat it anyway when they get back home.

When you get all of this stuff prepped you can move on to the most important part, you! Light all the candles that you have. Run a bathtub full of water as warm as you can handle it. Take a nice relaxing bath, breathe deeply and just enjoy the moment. The object of your affection should be getting home soon, so pull yourself away from the tub. Dry off, dab your favorite perfume on, and put on your favorite outfit. This could be a cute little negligee, or a silk robe, or nothing at all, choose whatever makes you most comfortable. You may need to turn the heat up a bit in the house or you might freeze to death. Go into the kitchen and reheat the chocolate right before they are expected to get home. Get the whipped cream and the fruit tray out of the fridge. Arrange them on a low coffee table in the living room or on the bed in the bedroom. If they are any account, they will have picked up some flowers while they were out, but don't fret if they don't. Greet them at the door with a big smile and commence to enjoy your sweet treats any way you can imagine. I'm sure that if you follow this idea that they won't be forgetting this Valentine's Day anytime soon.
