Teachers also have the problem of deranged or confused students with guns. Most teachers won't even know the child has a gun until it is too late. What's worse than a child (student) with a gun? It is an irresponsible parent that owns the gun. And of course the crazed adult that brings the gun to school, whether to threaten or hurt someone the adult is dangerous.
Some teachers also have the problem of discipline in the class room. Some students have personal problems that they bring into the classroom. Other students just don't have respect for anyone. Then you have students that act out because the other students are doing it.
How do you discipline the children that hit other children? What do you do with the ones that call the teacher names? What do you do with the kicking child that will kick the teacher, or even other students? How do you discipline in a society that says you can't touch a child even to remove them from the room?
Teachers that have students with discipline problems don't have a chance to teach much. They have to spend their time dealing with discipline problems. After the same student visits the principle's office several times in a week the principle tells the teacher to deal with it. So a teacher isn't much of a teacher. He or she is everything else but a teacher. He or she is a parent, counselor, referee, and babysitter.
Sometimes it is necessary to remove the student. The teacher asks the student to leave and the student says "no". The student then will either get picked up and taken to the principle's office or the teacher will try taking the student to the office by holding his or her hand.
Then of course there is always the teacher who intrudes on other teachers classes and takes over. This is a complete NO-NO! When students see other teachers walking over their teacher they lose respect for their teacher. They also start not listening to their teacher because in the student's eyes the teacher has no authority.
A bossy teacher co-worker only adds to another teacher's disciplining problems. The teacher loses control of his or her class because of another teacher. The other teacher is only trying to help but it hinders the teacher. Don't sabotage your own industry by making co-workers look bad in front of their students.
If you need to let another teacher know what they should do pull them into the hallway or out of the students' earshot. Your helping is only hindering the teacher's ability and control of teaching his or her class.
