If you are looking for a great place in Colorado to go skiing then you do not want to miss Breckenridge Ski Resort. Breckenridge Ski Resort is located about 100 miles from of Denver in Breckenridge, Colorado. You can take interstate 70 from Denver and go west until you get to exit 203. Then you will go south on highway 9 to Breckenridge. At Breckenridge Ski Resort you will find over 2,300 ski-able acres. And there are 155 ski trails, with the longest trail being the Four O'Clock trail at 3.5 miles long.

The trails at Breckenridge Ski Resort are broken down into four different classifications. They are: easiest, more difficult, most difficult and expert. With 155 trails, that breaks down to 14 % of the trails ranking 'easiest,' 31 % of the trails rank 'more difficult,' 19 % of the trails rank 'most difficult' and 36 % of the trails rank 'expert.' With so many trails, it can be intimidating deciding on where to start when you arrive. Here is my recommendations for the 10 best trails, with trails included for each skill level.

Breckenridge Ski Resort is supposed to have some of the best ski trails for beginners anywhere. If you are looking for the beginner trails you should look off chair 7 over on peak 8. Over there you will find an easy portion of the Four O'Clock trail. You will also want to give the Lower Lehman trail a try.

If you are an intermediate skier you will want to stick mostly to peak 7 for your skiing. At peak 7 you will find, ironically enough, 7 intermediate ski trails that fall under the 'more difficult' category. You will not want to miss the Claimjumper trail, which is easily a favorite of repeat visitors to the Breckenridge Ski Resort. It is actually on peak 8 though. You might also want to try the Wirepatch or the Upper Lehman trail.

As for an advanced intermediate trail, you will not want to miss the Frosty's Freeway trail.

If you want to ski some of the trails categorized as 'most difficult' then you will not want to miss the Duke's Run trail on peak 8. You will experience both nice groomed mountain terrain as well as a not so groomed terrain on this trail. If you need to work on getting the hang of skiing a trail with some rough patches then you should test your skills on the Peerless trail on peak 9.

If you think of yourself as an expert skier, you can test your skills against super fat bumps, hidden kickers and glades and more. Some trail you will want to try are the Double Barrel trail and the Magic Carpet trail.
