The Third Wish

The Third Wish is a wonderful, exciting story about a man named Mr. Peters that was driving through the woods. He saw a swan that was stuck in a tangled thorn bush so he saved him. In return for saving it the swan, which is the king of the forest, grants him three wishes. For his first wish He wishes for a wife as beautiful as the forest. It turns out that the king of the forest turns a swan into the most beautiful girl in the world, her name was Leita. They were married at once. They lived in a small house near a small river. Mr. Peters soon notices that his new wife is very unhappy. Everyday she would go outside and sit by the river watching the swans swim by. She grows sick and weak. To make his wife happy he uses his second wish to turn Leita back into a swan so she could be with her sister. Every day after that the Mr. Peters would visit the two swans at the riverside. Even though his wife is now a swan he still loves her very much. He would visit her every day for a couple of years. Since he couldn't undo his third wish he never used it because he knew it would back fire like his first.

Mr. Peters died peacefully in his house with a smile on his face, a ruffled leaf, and a white feather clasped between his hands. This story kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happened next.
