If you are downtown and craving your favorite cup of Joe this is the best place to come. Not only are the staff friendly and helpful, but they are quick, knowledgeable about the selections on the menu, and they tend to remember what regulars order often. The place is clean, quiet, and is a popular hangout of lawyers from the nearby court house, police officers, students, office workers, and just the everyday person who comes to lounge with a book or a laptop. A favorite of the morning crowd are their breakfast sandwich or oatmeal and coffee duos. Just don't count the calories on this one unless you're going for the low-fat turkey bacon version. With it's proximately to lots of retail shops, day spas, and a gas station, it is a convenient stop for local workers. As an added bonus; during the summer months in is right on the same strip as a local farmers market. So after you purchase your fresh produce, kettle corn, and other sundry's you can enjoy a refreshing iced coffee or tea.
2. Peets Coffee on Holiday Lane
Peet's Coffee on Holiday Lane near Denny's is a great place to strong gourmet coffee and specialty teas. If you are looking for something a little less retail and a little more indie, then you might want to check out Peets. Serious coffee tasters will enjoy the variety that they offer. It has a close proximity to various fast food restaurants which for people who want a quick bite is a bonus. The only con is that the atmosphere of the area is a little lacking.
3 Starbucks inside Barnes and Noble Bookstore
Located in the Gateway Courtyard; this is the best coffee shop in town hands down. The convenience of sipping your favorite brew while also reading the latest magazines or perusing a bestseller is for many visitors bar none. This is the perfect place for a four-hour study session with your college buddies, a bit of private reflection, or to indulge in page-turner or two. The staff is personable, and fast to serve. The location also offers soup and sandwiches, chips, pastries and other menu options along with non-caffeinated beverages. Another plus, is that the Starbucks inside Barnes and Noble is located near a bevy of restaurants and eateries. It is also directly across the street from a major shopping mall and a movie theatre that boasts 16 screens.
