The Tim Tebow Phenomenon Continues

The National Football League in general, and the Denver Broncos in particular are scratching their collective heads, about this rookie out of Florida. The article, "Tebow Draws Fans Like No Other in NFL, reported fans flock to the Bronco's training camp to see Tebow. Fans refer to him as somebody to believe, a hero, and an inspiration.

The Tebow Experience

Cars parked everywhere, and wherever you looked was a jersey with the No. 15 emblazoned on it. The jersey number 15 belongs to the Bronco's third string quarterback, Tim Tebow

Fans call out his name and want hugs, autographs, or to shake his hand. They'll do about anything to get close enough to touch him. His teammates, even those who have been around for awhile, agree they've never seen anything like it. Two things are important to fans who come to visit: Tim Tebow, and the trailer that houses Tim Tebow paraphernalia they can purchase.

The Bronco's play the Jacksonville Jaguars, in Florida, this year, which is just a little over an hour from Gainsville, where Tebow played for the Gators while in college. The game is already nearly sold out, and this for a team that sold out only one game last year.

Tebow's Magnetism

Tebow's draw is his realness, and purity. He doesn't hesitate to announce he's a virgin, and he and his mother filmed a commercial in which she explained why she hadn't aborted him, when faced with possible life threatening complications associated with his delivery. Tebow lives his faith, and in a world that revolves around the "me" word, he acquiesces to a sovereign God.

He is a person who accepts what is given him, and is content with it. "He's a good player, and a great person," said one of his fans.

Tebow notices the commotion around him, but claims a commitment to studying the NFL. He keeps company with those who are safe to be with, and no player begrudges his fame. Of course, how could anyone begrudge anything about someone who is always polite and friendly? Broncos receiver Brandon Lloyd said it best, "you can tell this kid didn't ask for any of this."
