Fantasy Basketball Players You Should Have in 2009

The 2008-2009 NBA season is about one-third of the way complete. By now many fantasy basketball managers have figured out which players are top producers and which ones are flashes in the pan. The selections on the list for January are ideal if you play the salary cap fantasy basketball games such as The Sporting News Ultimate Hoops or the NBA Stock Exchange, where the prices of the players are based on the supply and demand of players being traded. Even if you play the draft league fantasy basketball games, these players should be consider for your fantasy basketball roster.

Rodney Stuckey, Guard, Detroit Pistons - Stuckey was a pleasant surprise for many fantasy basketball owners since he gained the starter position once Chauncey Billups was traded. Stuckey has been a true fantasy basketball sleeper and has averaged about 20 points per game in December according to stats found on the Yahoo Sports page . He also averaged slightly fewer than 5 assists per game and just under 3 steals per game in December. If he continues to produce in this manner in January, he should be a valuable addition to your fantasy basketball roster.

Andray Blatche, Forward, Washington Wizards - This fantasy basketball sleeper has benefited primarily from the injury to Caron Butler. Blatche can also start at the center position offering fantasy managers added value as a pick. His numbers for the last few weeks show him in double figure scoring most nights, a decent number of rebounds and assists, and at least a block and a steal each game. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/

Kyle Lowry, Guard, Memphis Grizzlies - Kyle Lowry is the starting point guard for the Grizzlies. He has seen his assists stats increasing toward double digits over the last several games and he. His fantasy price is currently as cheap as it gets in the Sporting News Ultimate Hoops game. So he may be an excellent fantasy sleeper pick for guard in January 2009.

Danny Granger, Forward, Indiana Pacers - Granger has been quietly blowing up the fantasy basketball scoreboard with substantial fantasy points during the month of December. He is Indiana's leading scorer and also produces assists and rebounds. Even a recent concussion didn't slow him down as he scored over 30 points in his next appearance after the concussion. If he stays healthy, this fantasy sleeper should be a key part of your fantasy basketball roster.

Nate Robinson, Guard, New York Knicks - Robinson has been on fire during the latter part of December scoring around 25 points per game. He also averaged 5 rebounds per game and about 4 assists per game. His production has been very consistent and he is a prime candidate for your fantasy basketball roster in January.

Louis Williams, Guard, Philadelphia 76ers - Williams value to the 76ers has risen with the injury to Elton Brand who should continue to be out during most of January. Williams scoring has averaged about 17 points per game in December according to CBS' Sportsline.com. For those in the salary cap leagues, his price should be almost ideal at this point. Don't sleep on Louis Williams if you need a guard for your fantasy team.

Wilson Chandler, Forward, New York Knicks - Wilson Chandler is on my list for January 2009 as he was for December. His production continues to be good with an average of 13.4 points per game during December and just under 6 rebounds per game. Despite having a few games where his production fell, he is still a good choice when looking for a forward for your fantasy basketball roster.

Kelenna Azubuike, Guard, Golden State Warriors - Azubuike is coming off the bench and getting some considerable playing time. According to Sportsline.com, he has been very hot as he closed out the month of December with 16 points per game and 4.4 boards per game during the last five contests. It appears that he is on the upswing and should be considered for your fantasy basketball roster in January.

Rajon Rondo, Guard, Boston Celtics - Rajon Rondo has been one of the keys to the Celtics tremendous season and he is one to consider for your roster. While not necessarily a sleeper at this point, his fantasy value is greater than that of his fellow teammates, even Kevin Garnett, due to his fantasy price. His double digit scoring, solid assists and steals, makes him a prime candidate for your fantasy basketball roster.

Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, Forward, Milwaukee Bucks - Mbah a Moute numbers dropped some during the early weeks of December as his playing time diminished. But his production has started to pick up again and he should be reconsidered as a good fantasy basketball sleeper selection for your roster.
