1) Know what type of skin you have. You may notice labels on the bottles of skin care products available labeling them for specific skin types. This is because not all skin care products are for everyone. Some specifically treat problems in sensitive skin, others in dry skin and still others in oily skin. If you know what type of skin you have, you can more effectively shop for the products you need.
2) You should always drink a lot of water. You may not realize it, but what goes in also effects what is on the outside. Drinking water can help flush all of your systems and rid your body of things that can negatively affect your skin.
3) Wash your face no less then two times a day. If you allow the oil and dirt your skin produces at night during sleep to sit all day, you are giving it a chance to damage your skin. Likewise, leaving your skin dirty from the day while sleeping is giving everything you might have picked up during the day the chance to further harm your skin. You can use warm water and a cleanser or just simple soap.
4) Treat your skin gently. You do not want to use exfoliating washes too often, as it can rub away too much skin. You also want to watch how many products you are using. Combining too many products can block your pores, causing bad skin problems.
5) Use moisturizers and lotions to keep your skin moist all day long. If your skin becomes too dry it can crack and bleed, or cause rough calloused skin, which can be very unattractive. By keeping your skin moist you are helping to keep it stronger and more resistant to the weather.
6)You want to avoid using straight soap directly on your face, as it will often lead to dry skin. You should use soap only from the neck down.
7) Protect yourself from the suns UV rays with a good sun block. You will also want to avoid tanning beds as those rays are linked to many different types of skin cancer. Often times you can find moisturizers with sunscreen already in them, which can help you both protect yourself and keep your skin moist.
8) Exercise, on top of all its other great benefits, can help keep your skin from going slack, causing you to look older then you are. Also, not getting enough rest can cause you to get wrinkles just below your eyes.
9)You must always treat, not ignore, all skin dilemmas with care. Before moving on to a new product you may want to talk to your dermatologist, so that you do not harm your skin even more by trying to help it.
10) Stress affects all parts of your body, including your skin. Take the appropriate measures to relieve your stress, and your skin will also improve.
As you can see, your skin requires a lot of special attention. However, giving your skin the attention it needs and deserves is not very difficult. Adding a small amount of time to dedicate to your skin in your daily routine will greatly improve the quality and look of your skin. Healthy skin is one of the fastest ways to beauty.
