The Top 15 Search Terms for Articles on AC

These Are the Most Popular Keyword Search Terms to Date. Use Them to Write SEO Articles for Associated Content to Get the Most Page Views and Up Your Clout Level

John Savage
I've learned that when you write web content, as opposed to print material, one of the most important things to know is how to optimize your articles for search engines. If your articles don't show up high on the page it's likely no one is going to read them, or even know they exist. People don't want to have so scroll through page after page of articles to find the information they are searching for. They are most likely going to pick one of the first ten listed on the page, and once they have clicked away from the page, you've lost them. So I did some research to find out what the top fifteen search terms to help me improve my page views. I thought it would only be fair to share this information because so many of your articles have been so helpful to me.

Google

Google and google.com were the 1st and 6th ranked search terms in my research. This makes sense because Google is the most popular search engine and everyone uses search engines to find what they are looking for. Most people don't bother to put www in front when they type it in so they are likely to search the term before getting to the site itself. Google also has a tendency to be in the news, so that is another way it shows up in a search.

EBay

EBay ranked second in my research and again this makes sense because it is the most popular auction site, selling millions of items. This is one of the first people look when wanting to buy something. EBay is also twice as popular since there are also almost as many sellers as there are buyers.

Yahoo

Yahoo and yahoo.com ranked 11th and 3rd respectively. Again, Yahoo is very popular for searches, free mail, websites, and social networking sites. It only makes sense that these terms would rank high as keywords go.

Music

Music ranked 4th in overall popularity of the most searched key word terms. If I have to explain why then I am in the wrong business; everyone likes some kind of music, and the internet seems to be the place to buy it these days.

MapQuest

MapQuest ranked 5th, however surprisingly, mapquest.com didn't make the top 15. MapQuest is probably the most used mapping system on the web, therefore the most searched.

Food

Food ranked 7th, and being a necessity of life, this doesn't surprise me at all.

Travel

Coming in at number 8, travel is a very popular search term. This is one keyword whose popularity will probably never diminish. It is almost always a safe bet to write at least a few articles pertaining to travel.

Hotmail

Hotmail came in at 9th. Most people seem to be using Wi-Fi or DSL now so it pays to use a free mail service like hotmail. Many people have a hotmail account to so they use it much like Google, searching the term as opposed to actually typing the address into the browser.

Computer

Whose life doesn't seem to revolve around computers these days? People searching for computers, computer repair, computer parts and upgrades, and even advice.

Advertising

Advertising is the water that keeps the computer age, and the internet alive. It came in as the 12th most used keyword in a search. People are constantly looking for new and more effective ways to advertise their product or service. Then there are always those who are trying to sell the advertising service itself.

Weather

Weather came in at number 13. I am actually surprised that it wasn't more popular because who doesn't talk about the weather?

S-e-x

Well if it surprises you that s-e-x came in at number 14, it shouldn't. In our society everything seems to be driven by s-e-x and money. I would suggest however, that if you use s-e-x as a keyword that you may be blocked by many searches and filters. That is why I have separated the letters here.

Msn

Well, we finally come to number 15, msn. Being probably one of the most popular service used on the net, it make sense that it would rank in the top 15. I'm not really sure how you would use msn in an article, but then again I've used the word msn four times in this one, so be creative.
