DETAILS: Since 1968, the annual Hot Springs Arts and Crafts Fair attracts many with the county's display of art, scenic views, and unique crafts. Held at the new Garland County Fairgrounds, the fair has been designated as the official "kickoff" Fall festival of the year. Located in the Extension Homemakers Building is the "State of the Art" kitchen which offers various foods and snacks. Some of the featured hand-crafted items include hand-woven baskets, hand-crafted jewelry, hand-tooled leathered designs, wood-carved items, among many others. Visitors can enjoy the breath-taking views of Highway 7, Lake Catherine, and the Garvin Woodland Gardens path.
WHAT: HOT SPRINGS ANTIQUE/BOUTIQUE WALK
WHEN: 3RD Friday of each month from 4pm-8pm
WHERE: 100-200 Block of Central Avenue
DETAILS: The Hot Springs Antique/Boutique Walk is a monthly event that draws many locals and visitors. The monthly walk features various shops for unique clothing, jewelry, fine art, foods, and home and garden specialty gifts. Visitors can enjoy the spectacular artwork through the gallery, enjoying the historic "art town" Hot Springs first became known for.
WHAT: QUARTZ, QUILTS, AND CRAFT FESTIVAL
WHEN: October 8, 9, 10, 2010
WHERE: Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Mount Ida, Arkansas
DETAILS: This 3-day festival features many specialty exhibits of gems, quilts, and other crafts displayed through the festivals six booths. The festival features vendors from all over the world, displaying unique crafted quilts. The festival provides a showcase featuring over 200 various quilts. On Saturday at 2pm, children grades Kindergarten through 6th grade are able to dig for gems. Visitors of the festival can enjoy the special menu options at the festival's own "Lion's Club".
