It may be a no brainier on which Irish-American teams have had an impact on American sports history throughout the years. There is no denying that American people have a passion for various variety of sports, but it is indisputably apparent that the "the luck of the Irish" may not just be a symbol of luck, it may be a rite of passage pertaining to why these teams are the greatest Irish-American sports teams of all time.

#1) The Boston Celtics symbolize what a winning Championship NBA team is all about. The Boston Celtics won 8 Championships in a row; this is an NBA record, from 1959 to 1966 this team dominated the league in scoring, rebounding, and most points scored during this time. Coach Red Auerbach was a motivating coach who designed plays that catered to the talent of his players strong points; he was a masterful coach that kept his opponents wondering what they could do to defeat this mastermind. The Boston Celtics have won a total of 17 Championships; it is a feat that will be hard pressed for any other NBA team to achieve.

#2) The Boston Bruins may not have won a Stanley Cup Championship since 1971-1972, but they have had 64 playoff appearances. The Boston Bruins first playoff appearance was in 1926-27, and two years later they would win their first Stanley Cup. The Boston Bruins have finished in the top 4 slot in their playoff history - which places them in the top five NHL franchises of all time. It would look as if that it has been a bitter sweet love affair - as the Boston Bruins fans cherish the early years when their team was once the toast of the town.

#3) Notre Dame "The Fighting Irish"has played in some of the most historic college games that will be remembered forever in the annals of college football.
