5. Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2.
Lenovo has been doing considerably good in the netbook business and the IdeaPad S10-2 is a brilliant deal for such a low price. It has a slim design, very light chassis and can be a very good companion. However, it is not a very brilliant design and the protruding battery pack makes it look ugly. It has no ExpressCard slot and this can be a bad deal for some users. However, this slimmer version of the famous IdeaPad 610 is a good deal for its low price and it comes along with the Intel Atom N270 1.6Ghz processor, 1 GB RAM which can go up to 2 GB, a 160GB Hard Disk and a 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi.
Price: $149.99
4. Acer Aspire One D250.
This is another good netbook from the Aspire One series by Acer. It has a low price, a much slimmer design and size and you will just enjoy the touch pad buttons. A bad thing is that the battery life is not very great and the speakers are really not very good on performance. Also, many people won't find the small keyboard to be much friendly. It has a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270, 160GB Hard Disk, 1GB DDR2 RAM expandable up to 2GB, Ethernet port and 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi.
Price: $298
3. HP Mini 311.
I have not found HP to be very remarkable in the netbook race, as of yet. But, I believe the HP Mini 311 is very affordable and really great deal for what it offers. It is powered by the nVidia Ion graphics which give you HD video and average gaming capabilities and features a really high definition display. Though streaming Flash videos with nVidia Ion graphics can get a bit spotty and the touch pad can get annoying at times, it very reasonably priced for what it offers. This can be a very amazing netbook for college/university students.
Price: $398.
2. Asus Eee PC Seashell 1201N.
Asus are one of the first people to introduce us to the netbooks saga and they have been working hard to provide us the best. The Asus Eee PC Seashell 1201N has a dual core Atom processor, brilliant display and amazing gaming graphics for a netbook, it also features a large screen and is very affordable for its features. The Asus Eee PC Seashell 1201N has a very awful touch pad, and the battery life is not very long, but you can't expect better battery life on a powerful netbook. It also features 2GB RAM, 250Gb Hard Drive, Ethernet, Bluetooth and 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi.
Price: $465 - $499.
1. Samsung N120.
The best on the list for top affordable netbooks has to be the Samsung N120, I have personally used it and it has shown me some excellent performance so far. Powered by the 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270, 1GB of Ram and 160GB of Hard Disk, the Samsung N120 is one of the best in the market. For a netbook it has a huge keyboard and that is one of its most brilliant features. Also, it has really wonderful sound as it has a 2.1 in built speaker system. Although, I think it is a bit over priced as it has just basic hardware the netbook is definitely the best and a few extra dollars for the best won't be much of harm.
Price: $399.
