The Top 5 Most Pointless Android Applications

Nick Mayer
We all know about the best and greatest Android applications, but what are some of the worst and pointless apps available to download on the Droid? Read on to find out.

1. Strobe Light - Yes, we all know the Droid App. The one that seemingly everyone has that makes their phone turn into a strobe light. This is by far the most annoying and pointless Droid app., simply because it does absolutely nothing. If one turned off the lights in a room and used this application, it wouldn't even come close to actually simulating a real strobe light. So people, please keep your strobe lights off and leave the raves to the real strobe lights.

2. Coin Flip - Well, its the age old question: Heads or tails? Who knows? Oh, that's right! Coin Flip knows! This app obviously has a 50/50 chance on hitting heads or tails, and if you don't ever carry around spare change, or know someone who does, you might actually need this application for the Android. Chances are more than 50/50 that you won't need this app though.

3. Doomsday Clock - The doomsday clock has been around for years now. Who wants to know when they actually die? This application might be useful if it actually correctly predicted when one would die. The problem is that it doesn't. So for people who get a kick out of hearing how they will die, even if it is horribly untrue, then go for it and download the Doomsday Clock for the Android. You will impress your friends with one of the most unimpressive apps for the Droid.

4. Cricket - No, this is not a game. It does not simulate the game of cricket or have anything to do with the sport whatsoever. Yes, this is an application simulating the sound a cricket makes. And if you were still wondering, yes. It is one of the most pointless apps for the Droid. When would you ever need to use this? If you want to be known as the guy/girl who pulls out their Android and pulls up your Cricket application when an awkward situation occurs then this might be the right app for you. If not, then just steer clear of this Droid app.

5. Harmonica - Here is a great instrument that has somewhat faded from American culture. The harmonica has a somewhat simple, yet complex nature to it that can't be replicated. Yet, it is being replicated in the Droid! For those wondering, you cannot blow into your Droid to produce sound with this "instrument." Instead, you place your fingers on the holes to produce a sound. This is easily one of the most useless and pointless application on the Android because of one simple reason. Who would want to look this silly playing a simulated harmonica?
