San Diego's exclusive top drawer hotels have far more to offer their discerning patrons than mere luxury accommodations. Decadent spa pampering, gourmet dining and of course rooftop nightlife! Whether you are a social climber in training or a long arrived King of the Heap, up is the way to go to experience the San Diego rooftop lounge scene.

The Glass Door - Porto Vista Hotel and Suites

"The Glass Door" really does a great job of summing up this Little Italy lounge and restaurant. Situated on the fourth floor of the modest Porto Vista Hotel with a breathtaking view of the San Diego harbour, The Glass Door offers New American cuisine and wine flights in elegant, understated opulence. 40 artisan handmade Moroccan lanterns hang low from the ceiling of The Glass Door all while creating a soft ambiance.

From the spacious open deck or from behind the glass doors, diners can't help but feel welcomed and comfortable at this classy San Diego rooftop oasis.

Float Lounge - Hard Rock Hotel

One of two new San Diego nightlife hot spots introduced by the Hard Rock Hotel in 2009, the Float Lounge is a serious and dramatic rooftop party venue. Float offers private cabanas that are poolside and opium beds along the fire pits. The fire pit VIP lounge hosts a bottle service at night, but it's the Sunday Intervention that is seldom missed by the diehard San Diego pool party clan.

Siren Lounge - Se Hotel

Overlooking the Gaslamp skyline, the out-of-the-box Kama and Sirén Lounge offers select hotel guests and better informed locals at shot at the good life. Avoid the hub bub and take cover in one of the VIP cabanas for an exclusive night out.

Beach Bar - W Hotel

With its second floor Veranda bar, the recently revamped WET pool offers it guests an opportunity to soak up the sun and sample Veranda treats while gracefully reclining on chaise lounges. With whimsical flora, cresting wave hyper photo, a mirror all and a graphic wooden deck, the WET is a true oasis.

LOUNGEsix - Hotel Solamar

Hotel Solamar is taking San Diego to new rooftop heights this spring. LOUNGEsix isn't going to re-invent the wheel at the Solamar, so don't hold out for radical decor changes or glitzy promos. The new LOUNGEsix brand will, however, represent a change in atmosphere, particularly on the Solamar Terrace. Watch this space!
