All of the Smartphones below have all of these capabilities along with being a typical cell phone: 3 way calling, call waiting, call hold, call timer, caller ID, can be kept on standby, vibrating alert, a polyphonic ringer, video calling, internet browsing, email, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, digital player (like MP3s), digital camera and video recording. They also all come with a 1 year warranty. Everything possibly necessary to use for a business in the office, or when on-the-go.
Below are the Top 5 for businesses with their typical differences listed next to them, such as price, memory (GBs or MBs), screen size, operating system, display resolution, battery life, MP capability, weight, height, width and depth.
Apple iPhone 3GS, 32GB: retail price is $299.99; 32GB memory; 3.5 inch screen size; OS X operating system; 480 x 320 display resolution; up to 300 minutes of battery life; 3.0 MP, weight - 4.8 oz.; height - 4.5 inches; width - 2.4 inches; and depth - 0.4 inches. This is a touch screen style phone. The Apple Store sells this phone as does Radio Shack, Target, Best Buy and several online websites.
Blackberry Bold 9700: retail price is $199.99; 256 MB memory; 2.44 inch screen size; Blackberry Handheld Software operating system; 480 x 360 display resolution; up to 360 minutes of battery life; 3.2 MP, weight - 4.3 oz.; height - 4.29 inches; width - 2.36 inches; and depth - 0.56 inches. This is a candy bar style phone. This phone is wider and bulkier than the Apple iPhone above. I personally like this phone because the numbers and letters are on the exterior of its frame. You can get the best deal for it at T-Mobile online, Amazon.com, or a T-Mobile store. Supposedly Best Buy sells it too but it is much more expensive there.
Apple iPhone 3GS 16GB: retail price is $199.99; 16GB memory; 3.5 inch screen size; OS X operating system; 480 x 320 display resolution; up to 300 minutes of battery life; 3.0 MP, weight - 4.8 oz.; height - 4.5 inches; width - 2.45 inches; and depth - 0.4 inches. This is a touch screen style phone. The main difference between this Apple iPhone and the Apple iPhone above is it has half the GBs -memory. The Apple Store sells this phone as does Radio Shack, Target, Best Buy and several online websites.
If you want to spend a little less, especially if you have to buy for many employees and still want all the functions as the ones above including the 1 year warranty, I recommend these two Smartphones:
Motorola Cliq Winter White (it's black though) Android phone by T-Mobile: retail price is $99.99; 256 MB memory; 3.1 inch screen size; Android 1.5 operating system; 480 x 320 display resolution; up to 360 minutes of battery life; 5.0 MP, weight - 5.7 oz.; height - 4.5 inches; width - 2.3 inches; and depth - 0.6 inches. This is a slider style phone. This phone has a few buttons on the bottom exterior. To me this looks like the Apple iPhone with a little bit less screen. Amazon.com has a great price for this phone right now: $99.99. www.t-mobile.com offers the same price on their website with plans. Supposedly Best Buy sells it too but it is much more expensive there.
HTC Droid Eris Android by Verizon Wireless retail price is $99.99; 8 GB memory; 3.2 inch screen size; Google Android 1.5 operating system; 320 x 480 display resolution; up to 460 minutes of battery life; 5.0 MP, weight - 4.2 oz.; height - 4.4 inches; width - 2.2 inches; and depth - 0.5 inches. This is a candy bar style phone. This phone also has a few buttons on the bottom exterior. It looks like the Apple iPhone and also has a little less screen than the HTC Droid Eris above. Amazon has a great price for this phone right now: $99.99. With a 2 year contract Verizon Wireless is selling this phone for $79.99 on their website: www.verizonwireless.com. It's much more expensive in Best Buy.
For those of you who choose a phone with a large touch screen and keeping it clean concerns you, I find that the thin plastic sheets, which stick to the screen, work wonders. I found Walmart to have the cheapest price on a package containing several sheets which can be cut to fit exactly.
