The Top 6 Places to Work in LA County If You Want to See Celebrities

Where to Work, when You Don't Want to Act, but You Want to See Celebs

So you live in LA County and you want to see celebrities. You don't want to be an actor, so you aren't going to meet them on set, or in any workshops but you can see them in everyday life, doing every day things, and maybe even get a chance to interact with them a little bit. Here are the top 6 places you should work in LA County if you want to see a celebrity.

1.Studio Lot Security booth
Pretty obvious one. If you're working the security booth at a major studio, you're bound to see a celeb or two. They have to drive into the studios just like everyone else. Duties mostly include checking lists for names, watching video cameras, asking questions and keeping out the May take a bit of training to become one, but hey, it can't be that hard, Gary Coleman was doing it for awhile.

2. Pinkberry
Frozen yogurt place that has been taking LA by storm. Favorite of celebrities because it's nonfat, low sugar and all organic. The Melrose location has been known to feature hour long lines that people wait in, just to get a frozen yogurt. Paris Hilton, Hilary Duff, David Hasselhoff and many others have been spotted picking up a frozen treat or two. Best locations to spot a celeb-West Hollywood or Studio City. No experience necessary. Pays well, tips for counter help are decent.

3. Sprinkles Cupcakes
Celebs and regular people alike LOVE these delectable little cupcakes. Just last week, I was watching Girls Next Door and Bridget was on her way out to get herself some. Be a cashier and get to hand over the goodies to celebs such as Katie Holmes, Barbara Streisand or Oprah. Or answer the phone and take orders from Celebs or for them. Either way, you are bound to run into someone at least once a week. It's just a given. Also, since the cupcakes themselves are a little on the pricey side, you're bound to make more than minimum wage. Cashiers don't need any experience, just keep your eyes peeled for openings.

4.Hyde Nightclub
It's in the tabloids almost every day with some new celebrity sighting, party or drama-fest. Get a job there, be first in on the action. Bartenders, cocktail waitresses, bouncers, party planners…etc. Not a bad gig if you can get it. Warning though, you'll have to be attractive, by Hollywood standards, and have some type of experience to even be considered for a job, unless of course you know someone high up.

5.Background/audience work
Production companies are constantly looking for background people for their tv and talk shows. Pay sucks ($7 an hour) but you're only there for 3-5 hours and you get to watch the show before it airs. Easy, fun way to pass a free afternoon and you are guaranteed to see someone at each taping.

6.Kitson
Located on Robertson Blvd in LA. Seriously though, who ISN'T shopping here? You can work here as sales or stock people, or even a gift wrapper during the holidays and be guaranteed a celebrity sighting. Hip, trendy clothing and lots of buzz makes it a favorite for celebrity and non-celebrity fashionistas alike. Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and more are spotted here regularly. Hourly pay plus commission, which depending on who you've been helping could be huge makes this an attractive place to work. Also a great job if you're interested in stocking up on the trendy stuff for yourself, at a discount.

When you're out there looking for celebrities, try to keep in mind that they are real people too. Don't bum rush them, observe and move on. If it's someone you really admire, maybe stop them, smile, ask for a picture and then move on. Try not to make a big deal out of them and you're more likely to keep your job, and earn a reputation as a nice guy or girl from that Celebrity. The more normal you treat them, the more likely they are to remember you and the more likely they are to return to that place. They tell their other celeb friends and then you have the chance of meeting even more of them.
