Everyone knows they should exercise. Many of us make excuses as to why we cannot do it. Sometimes we just "do not have enough time" or "are waiting" for some event to occur that we know never will. The fact is, exercise is healthy and everyone should do it. Below are the top seven reasons a person should exercise.
-Exercise helps to reduce the amount of fat in our bodies. Everyone knows that in order to lose a sufficient amount of weight, and keep it off, you need to exercise. The movements involved in exercise help burn calories, which in turn, helps to reduce your weight. In today's society, who doesn't want or need to lose a few extra pounds?
· According to the National Cancer Institute, exercise is proven to help reduce your risk of contracting certain diseases. Common diseases like heart problems, cancer, diabetes and even stroke can be avoided through a simple exercise routine. Many deaths caused by heart disease care linked to stress and obesity, both of which could be avoided by exercise. Not exercising can cause obesity, which can lead to diabetes, which in turn can lead to a heart attack or stroke. Continuing an exercise routine continues reducing your chances of contracting these diseases (The American Cancer Society).
· If you already have a disease, exercising assists fighting the disease. It helps reduce your cholesterol levels, triglyceride levels, and blood pressure. By lowering these numbers, you increase your health. The healthier you are, the better your body can fight a disease.
· Exercise can help make you a happier person. According to healthcentral.com, exercising helps your body release endorphins. Endorphins are chemicals that increase how happy you are and help battle depression. The ADAM Medical Encyclopedia states that by exercising as little as twelve minutes, you are helping to make yourself happier. On top of that, a second chemical called serotonin is also shown to be more abundant during and after you workout. The heightened levels of serotonin can help you get a better nights sleep, which will lead to a better day.
·Sometimes you can improve your mood by exercising. By keeping up a regular exercise routine, you will know that you are capable of doing it. Having that knowledge will make you feel better about yourself and make you an overall better person. You might not have much self confidence now, but after a few weeks of a good exercise routine, when you step on that scale, your mood will surely rise.
· You will become more persistent by exercising. You probably already know that the more you exercise, the more energy you will have. By exercising, you are giving yourself that extra boost you need to be more productive. You'll begin to accomplish more at work, as well as at home. You'll be healthier and feeling better then ever, giving you the confidence you need to finish up those long started projects.
· Finally, exercise can help improve your self esteem. By looking better, and feeling better, your self esteem will rise. This will cause you to be more confident and have more self respect. When you respect yourself more, your spouse, coworkers, friends and relatives will also respect you more, giving you the confidence you need to do better in life.
As you can now see, exercise is more then what it seems. A simple jog around the block, along with some muscle toning exercises can make you a happier, healthier person. You will look great, and feel even better. Exercise is an easy way to a healthier heart, happier more productive you. Some might even say that your new look, attitude, and self confidence can help your marriage. The choice is yours, but with benefits like those, who wouldn't exercise?
