The Top Cars of the Decade

The Best Automobiles of 2000 - 2009

Keith Becker
A decade that started out with great sales and ending a little flat. Gas prices that went from to cheap to to high.
There was a lot of influences in manufacture in the last decade. We seen iron prices soar and the same with oil prices. New technology took over to make cars more efficient in many ways. We seen gains in fuel technology with different fuels and batteries. Here is some cars that pulled ahead of the rest.

As far as leading the way in reliability along with being economical The Honda Civic would win this tight list with the Toyota Camry coming in a close second. These cars out run there American equivalents by far. These cars are roomy and efficient. The shop time is drastically reduce .They do not break down.

As far as a new style the PT Cruiser takes this honor. The car brings back the look of the 40s. The real round look of the Cruiser started a small revolution with others following suit. You either like this style or hate it but The PT Cruiser led the way.

Muscle cars are back. The Mustang came back with a muscle car in the middle of the decade. The 2005 Mustang brought back muscle with the Camaro and charger following.

There is a new hybrid generation taking shape. Will it payoff and become a hit nobody knows. The high gas prices made the Toyota Prius come out with a bang. People were on long waiting lists for this model. As far as energy costs go I do not know if it is a great savings or not. Gas has got to be real high for it to pay for itself. But the Prius has led the way in the new hybrid movement. The Honda Civic Has come in a close second in the hybrid market. If oil goes up again these cars could make astronomical gains.

Pickups are still an American tradition though. The Chevrolet Silverado leads the way through another decade. The Reliable Ford F150 comes in a close second. These two brands are way out in front of the competition though.

With all the differences in automobiles it is hard to choose an over all winner. It depends what you are looking for in an automobile to choose your top pick. It could be style, economical, work, or comfort, or just a vehicle for fun. You make the choice what is your top vehicle?
