The Top Celebrity Mishaps of 2007: August
Bill Murray
Bill Murray was arrested in Stockholm, Sweden on suspicion of DUI in a golf cart. As Murray refused to take a breath test, police conducted a blood test. Murray was in Stockholm attending a golf tournament. He admitted his guilt in writing and allowed the police to enter a guilty plea on his behalf if the case ever made it to court.
Foxy Brown
Rapper Foxy Brown was sent to jail in New York City after she violated her probation. She was pulled over for driving while using her cell phone and going through a stop sign. During the traffic stop she was found to have been driving on a suspended license.
The day before, she was arraigned on felony assault charges in Brooklyn for allegedly attacking her neighbor with a cell phone.
Lindsay Lohan checked herself into the Cirque Lodge rehab center in Sundance, Utah. This is the same facility that David Hasselhoff and Mary-Kate Olsen used and was named by Town & Country Magazine as one of the best rehabs in the country.
After pleading guilty to two of seven misdemeanor charges, Lohan was to spend one day in jail and perform community service for ten days.
As Britney Spears attempted to park her car outside of a health food store in Los Angeles, paparazzo camera caught her crashing into a parked car. As she exited her car, she hit the same car again with her car door. She checked the damage to her car, and went inside the store.
Britney Spears' dog suffered a broken leg which she attributed to her two young sons playing rough with the puppy. She allowed the boys to throw the dog around and chase it until it ran away in fear. Her cousin reports that Britney found the dog whimpering in pain under the crib. Britney's cousin, Alli Sims took the puppy to the vet when she noticed the puppy was not walking right.
Singer Amy Winehouse quit rehab just days after entering. She had been hospitalized after collapsing from three days of heavy partying. She had entered the Causeway Centre in Essex, England with her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil who also left with her days later. Family members told the press that the couple had been using heroin and cocaine.
Days later, the couple re-entered the facility only to argue constantly, causing Winehouse to leave again.
Later during the month, Amy Winehouse's husband refused to re-enter rehab and Winehouse refused to go alone.
