The heroines of Marvel Comics are as formidable as the males, and here are some of the most powerful.

Black Widow

A secret agent trained by the Soviet government but she is now an international superhero. She has been a member of the Avengers, the Champions and the Defenders.

Elektra

An assassin trained by the mystic guild The Hand. She was a former love of Daredevil, but her chosen profession drove them apart. She still takes on the assignments geared to her skills, but often finds herself fighting alongside of the heroes of Marvel.

Ms. Marvel

Caught in the blast of an alien device, Carol Danvers gains superhuman powers. Calling herself Ms. Marvel, she has superhuman strength along with the ability to fly and a precognitive "seventh sense".

Spider Woman

Trained by the terrorist group HYDRA, Jessica Drew has incredible strength, speed and agility She can stick to any surface, and her suit gives her the ability to fly. She is an member of the Avengers and the anti-terrorist organization S.W.O.R.D.

Storm

Ororo is a mutant with the power to control the weather. Codenamed Storm, she has been a longtime X-Man, and is now married to the ruler of Wakanda, The Black Panther.

Jean Gray

Originally codenamed Marvel Girl, then later Phoenix, Jean's telekinetic and telepathic powers grew stronger and eventually tapped into the the Phoenix force. This force took over her mind and led her to transform into Dark Phoenix. This dark force led her to commit genocide, destroying an entire planet. Once free of the Phoenix force, Jean sacrificed her life to keep the Phoenix force from ever returning again. However, Jean returned to the Marvel Universe, and has faced death and resurrection more than once.

Emma Frost

Emma Frost - The White Queen -was once a member of the Hellfire Club, a group of the X-Men's major foes. She turned away from them and began teaching at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. During her tenure there, she moved from teacher to one of the members of the X=-Men. Upon Jean Gray's last demise, Emma became romantically involved with Scott Summers a.k.a. Cyclops.

Wasp

Janet Van Dyne, a.k.a. the Wasp, is one of the founding members of the Avengers. Her ex-husband, Henry Pym, was her heroic partner until spousal abuse led to their divorce. She has since led the Avengers. The Wasp has the power to shrink in size and fire her "wasp sting" at her foes.

Scarlet Witch

Wanda Maximoff is the Scarlet Witch. She is a mutant born with the ability to wield chaos magic. The power affects the probable outcomes of the natural order. She, along with her brother Pietro (codenamed Quicksilver) started as villains in the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. They eventually left that group to become superheroes as members of the Avengers.

She-Hulk

Receiving a blood transfusion from her cousin, Bruce Banner, Jennifer Walters soon turned into the jade giantess She-Hulk. Empowered with great strength, she also retained her intelligence and personality, unlike the Hulk. She-Hulk has been a member of the Fantastic Four and the Avengers.

The Invisible Woman

One of the famous Fantastic Four. Sue Storm has the ability to turn invisible and create invisible force fields. She is the first super-heroine of the Marvel Age and possibly the most powerful.
