The Top Family Gifts

Holiday Gift Guide

Fiona Johnson
Family gifts are the most fun to buy for in my opinion because they provide people with fun they can have together and give them the opportunity to make memories. These are the top gifts for families for the 2006 holiday season. There are expensive gifts and not so expensive gifts so take your pick and enjoy yourself!

Music Video Camera Karaoke System Pedestal Style by Singing Machine is a great family gift. Everyone loves to sing and there's no one better than your family to embarrass yourself with (or impress them if you're good!). All ages can get in on the fun and now you can even video tape everyone for lots of laughter later. The Music Video Camera Karaoke System Pedestal Style stands 20.5" high so it's perfect for catching those memorable moments. You can find the Music Video Camera Karaoke System Pedestal Style online and at most major retail stores. It retails for $199.99 and is recommended for ages 6 years and up.

The second most expensive item on the list is the Arcade-Style Electronic Dartboard Cabinet Game by DMI Sports. It retails for $299.99 but is worth the price for those who can afford it. You can choose from 24 games or hold your own dart tournament. The Arcade-Style Electronic Dartboard Cabinet Game features a 5.5" target area, eight-player LED score display, built-in storage, and six soft-tip darts with extra tips. Since it is a cabinet game it stands alone so there is no need to find a place to hang it either. It is available for purchase online, at some major retail stores, and is recommended for ages 8 and up.

The most expensive item on the list is the Minnesota Fats 7' Billiard Table by DMI Sports. This high quality billiard table retails for $399.99, is a blast for any family, and an essential for game rooms. The Minnesota Fats 7' Billiard Table features an automatic ball return, non-slate surface, leg levelers, light cherry laminate construction, a rich burgundy cloth cover, and solid pedestal legs. Keep in mind that the balls and pool cues are sold separately. You can purchase the Minnesota Fats 7' Billiard Table online and at some major retail stores. The recommended age for this billiard table is 8 years and up.

The least expensive item on the list is the UNO Spin Card Game by Mattel. Almost everyone has played UNO at some point in their life and now there is a new way for families to enjoy this classic game. The game includes an UNO Spin wheel, 112 UNO Spin cards, and instructions. With new twists like a spin wheel that forces players to switch hands, pick up more cards, or discard cards, you'll never know who will come from behind and take the victory. The UNO Spin Card Game retails for $17.99 and can be found online and at most major retail stores. The recommended age for this game is 6 years and up.

Last on the list is the Trivial Pursuit Totally '80s game by Milton Bradley. This game is recommended for ages 17 and up, making it more suitable for families with older children. With the Trivial Pursuit Totally '80s game you get to relive the fun, craziness, and just plain weird moments of the 1980's. There's no better way to mix in a visit back to one of the best decades with some family fun. It of course follows suit of the other Trivial Pursuit games with themed packaging, both knowledge and fun cards, and plenty of good times to be had (and a little knowledge too). This game retails for $39.99 and can be found online and at most major retail stores.

Whether you're getting these great gifts for a family you know or blessing your own family with them, you are sure to have a ball. Just remember that these are hot right now so get them before everyone else beats you to it.
