The Top Gay Bars in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Kate Schum
You might be wondering where the best gay bars are in Philadelphia! As someone who enjoys a night on the town every now and then, I scour the city searching for the best gay bars. After much "scientific research" I've finally narrowed it down to four fantastic bars where the people will absolutely love you! Maybe a nice night of bar hopping is in your cards so you can personally see what I'm talking about.

First, there is Woody's. This is almost everyone in the area's "first Gay bar". There are beautiful men, women, and the atmosphere is glorious. There are happy hours daily from 5-7pm. This includes $2 dollar domestic beers and you could even get a 32oz domestic pitcher and a sandwich for $10! The food is great and they serve it from 11am-9pm everyday. There is everything from sandwiches to fantastic salad. They also have events such as Karaoke Mondays from 9pm-1am, College Night on Wednesdays, and Caliente Thursdays! There are even two nights devoted to two-stepping and country line dancing on Friday and Sunday nights from 6-10pm! Remember, it is a bar and you must be 21 to drink! Woody's is located at 202 S. 13th Street!

Next, we have Bump. Bump is yet another fantastic bar and restaurant that has a wonderful environment. The menu has a wonderful variation of cocktails and meals. The meals are simple, yet delicious and they don't have to try hard at all to make the customers happy! If you want high end dining and to meet classy men in the Gayborhood, this is definitely the place. They have special nights such as house music on Wednesdays and Brittany Lynn's Gossip on Tuesdays! They are located at 1234 Locust Street!

If you are more into show tunes and delicious seafood then you'll want to go to Tavern On Camac. They have a piano bar every night with an array of talented acts. For a more fast paced person who enjoys clubbing they also have a dance floor. If you are into karaoke go there on Tuesdays at 9pm! They also have quite the menu with seafood and even delicious steak! Tavern is conveniently located at 243 So. Camac! Check them out!

Finally, the best bar is Knock. The photos at the website do not do it justice. You just have to know it for yourself. The best dates are to be had there. You can meet wonderful people there just like you would at the other three people. This place makes everyone happy. Even if you don't want to drink, they have a lot of different teas and soda. Then when you explore the cocktail menu, they don't hold back! Personally, I live a nice Grasshopper and to sit back and check out the scenery! They are located on 225 south 12th street.
