Susan Ott
Pittsburgh has a wonderful network of parks and outdoor facilities, including a plethora of public pools. Pittsburgh CitiParks swimming pools are located all over the city, and one pass will admit you to all of them for the season. Not only are these pools wonderful places to swim, they are host to all sorts of programs and activities for residents. If you're looking to cool off this summer in the city of Pittsburgh, PA, then look no further than its network of CitiPark Public Pools.

Outdoor Pools
The CitiPark organization in Pittsburgh boasts 19 outdoor swimming pools throughout the city. Residents can purchase one pool pass per person or family for the entire summer season, granting them admittance to all of Pittsburgh's public pools. Day passes are also available, and certain discounts apply, such as to those on welfare or in military families. The pools open in mid-June and operate all summer through Labor Day.

Pittsburgh's outdoor public pools offer a variety of activities for residents including: adult lap swims, water aerobics, swimming lessons, swim teams, water carnivals and even a free learn-to-swim camp (pool tags not required). One of the highlights of the summer is the CitiParks Championship Swim Meet, an all-day event in which swim teams from pools all over the city compete to win the top titles for the season. Swimmers 6 to 18 years of age compete in individual and relay events, and the winners receive medals and ribbons.

Indoor Oliver Bath House
The Oliver Bath House is the only Indoor Pittsburgh public pool within the CitiParks system. The bath house is open during the fall, winter and spring seasons, and summer pool passes are honored here all year long. Residents can enjoy swimming indoors throughout the year, as well as joining in on swim lessons, water aerobics and special swims for adults and families. Special infant and preschooler swim classes are also available at this indoor Pittsburgh pubic pool. The Oliver Bath House is a wonderful public alternative to pricey private indoor pools.

Free Spray Parks
Pittsburgh is proud to offer two free spray parks within the city so everyone can cool off on hot summer days. These parks contain large sprinkler-like structures, which spray water when their motion sensors are activated. Since there is no standing water, these parks are safe for even the smallest children and perfect for people who have disabilities or are in wheelchairs. The spray parks are free and operate from late spring through early fall, so all Pittsburgh residents can have some fun and cool off from the heat.
