Forest Hills located in the heart of Queens, has a wide variety of restaurants. There are Italian, Irish, Thai and even a Cajun restaurant. No matter what you are looking for you should be able to find it in Forest Hills. Here is a list of some of the top restaurants in the area.

1) Mardi Gras located at 7020 Austin Street. Mardi Gras offers great Cajun and southern style food. It's specialties include, jambalaya, Cajun fired chicken, St Louis style spare ribs, crawfish, catfish an shrimp creole. All of the food is excellent and you an even top of your meal with an authentic New Orleans Hurricane. For more information visit www.mardigrasnyc.com.

2) Irish Cottage located at 10877 72nd Avenue. The Irish Cottage serves traditional Irish food such as Shepard's pie and bangers and mash. It also serves American food, such as fried chicken and the good old American hamburger. They also pour a great pint of Guinness. This place is small, so you may have to wait for a table in the bar.

3) Lucien's located at 13 Station Square. This out of the way place offers a great menu of French cuisine and American standards. The dining room is very small as is the bar area, but the food is well worth it. The staff is very friendly and attentive.

4) Santa Fe Steakhouse located at 107-18 70th Road. A good old-fashioned steakhouse, you can get just about any steak you want. Plus Mexican cuisine such as fajitas, burritos and enchiladas as well as barbeque spare ribs. This is a nice place to take the family.

5) Q Bistro located at 10825 Ascan Avenue. This restaurant serves mainly Thai cuisine but also gets creative with some of its dishes, often giving them"French Flair." This place also offers a great variety of wines and beers. For more info visit www.qthaibistrony.com.

6) Family Pizzeria and Restaurant located at 11080 Queens Boulevard. This family style restaurant serves traditional Italian cuisine such as pasta, lasagna and chicken parmigian. Nothing fancy, just good Italian food. As the name suggests this place is great place to bring the family.

7) Nick's Pizza located at 108-26 Ascan Avenue. Nick's has some of the best pizza in New York, thin crust brick oven style. No slices here. It is reasonably priced and the service is great. This place fills up fast, so you might have to wait for a table. It is worth the wait.

8) Dee's Brick Oven Pizza located at 104-02 Metropolitan Avenue. This place is very similar to Nick's Pizza, good thin crust brick oven style pizza. It is also reasonably priced and offers great service. Again this place fills up fast.

9) Portofino located at 10932 Ascan Avenue. This is another great Italian restaurant that offers great food. This place is more of a romantic restaurant than family restaurant. They also offer great pizza and have a Sunday Brunch.

If none of these restaurants strike your fancy, there is also a TGI Friday's, Pizzeria Uno, McDonald's, Subway and plenty of Deli's.
