Every year summer comes around and the need to be entertained outside of their home draws crowds of people to many different places. The foremost being the summer concert venue. This venue can be anywhere, usually it is an open air arena where the most people can fit cramped into a space and there is plenty of room for vendors to sell their wares.

One such venue is the Tweeter Center for Performing Arts. Located in Mansfield, Massachusetts. The venue supports a large number seats as well as a lawn area behind the stadium proper.

Many big name acts stop here in Massachusetts as it is one of the biggest arenas its size in the area. Gillette Stadium is just 15 minutes away and is home to the New England Patriots. While the stadium has more seating and has some bigger name shows it cannot compete with the Tweeter Center based on the sheer number of events. It hosts.

From classic rock staples to the newer acts of today Tweeter Center is the place to go if you want your fill of music this summer. Here is a highlight of some of the shows you should see at this well known Massachusetts venue.

Stevie Nicks/Chris Isaak

Just a little less than a week away the Tweeter Center is ready to be blown away by these two pop stars. With a career spanning decades Stevie Nicks knows how to put on a show and entertain the crowd. Her concerts have come through the venue before and the crowds always leave satisfied. Tickets range from lawn seating at $28 to a seat up close at $125.

Rush

For the classic rock fan there is no band better than Rush. With the hits Tom Sawyer and The Spirit of Radio the band assured their future with generations of rock fans. The tickets are more reasonably priced with lawn tickets going for $25.50 and the highest priced seat set at $78.

Tool

For the heavier rock set there is Tool. The heavy metal and experimental band are coming this way yet again. Last year they had the sex techno goddess Peaches open for them and this new concert does not look to be any different. Expect your boundaries and perceptions to be pushed when this band comes to town. Lawn seating for $30 and covered seating for $50.

Opie and Anthony's Traveling Virus Tour

Now Tweeter Center isn't all just rock, there's some laughter too. This year the Traveling virus is hitting Mansfield. Beginning last year the tour made itself infamous for having a large roster of comics, some of which push the border of good taste (think Bob Saget, yes, I said Bob Saget) and the atmosphere of a rock concert or sporting event. The audience is entertained with video and vignettes between comics as well as a large number of event booths and vendors. Comics include Carlos Mencia, Frank Caliendo and Jim Norton, as heard on the Opie and Anthony Show. Tickets range from $19.50 to $59.50.

Rock The Bells/ Wu Tang Clan

Not every show is just rock either, Wu Tang clan is coming to the Tweeter Center. The long time rap group that has featured the RZA and Ol' Dirty Bastard is looking to cause soem havoc to your eardrums this summer. The last time the clan was around they caused a ruckus at the venue and made a lot of the townsfolk mad. If they keep it up this may be the last time you get to see them here, so get out and go see this experience. Lawn: $25, Covered: $35.

Later in the season come the summer concert festivals. These feature a number of bands that play back to back and just like the Traveling Virus have ancillary booths setup to give each concert goer a bigger and better experience.

Tweeter will host the Family Values Tour with Evanesence and Korn, the Vans Warped Tour, which always features local kids trying to make it big, and late in summer Ozzfest. Each has their own merits, paramount being that you may get to see some of your favorite bands in one single night. There is a flavor to each, Vans is gearing itself towards the skater/punk crowd and the heavy metal groupies luck out this year as Ozzfest is free. Those lucky enough to grab tickets get to experience the mayhem of the past years without spending a dime.

Be sure to check out Ticketmaster and Live Nation and most importantly the bands' web sites for concert information.
