Tomatoes
Tomatoes are extremely high in lycopene, an antioxidant which is known to aid in the reduction of the risk in multiple different types of cancers. These include breast cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, colon cancer and much more. It is also known to aid in protecting main organs such as the heart and lungs. The antioxidant lycopene that is contained in large quantities in tomatoes is found to be most effective against cancer and heart disease when it is cooked, preferably with a little olive oil. Spinach
Spinach is a superfood, as it contains a huge amount of antioxidants in the form of a substance by the name of lutein. Spinach protects against heart disease, cancer and macular degeneration which causes loss of eye sight. It is highly concentrated in beta-carotene, which accounts for the protection of the eyes. Additionally, it protects against the formation of cataracts. regular consumption of spinach is also known to aid in the prevention of dementia and hardening of the arteries. It is effective whether eaten raw or cooked, however it is a good idea to eat it in both forms for optimal benefits.
Salmon & Other Fish
Salmon is a superfood for its extremely high concentration of omega-3 fatty acid. Salmon is known to dramatically reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, cancer of the colon, breast cancer, prostate cancer, diabetes and arthritis. Omega-3 fatty acid that is contained in the salmon is also very helpful in increasing brain functioning which can help to prevent the onset of alzheimers and dementia. Incorporating salmon, trout, sardines, tuna and mackerel into your diet at least 4 times per week is advised in order to enjoy the maximum health benefits.
Blueberries
Blueberries are rich in antioxidants and amhocyanidins. These componants are known to protect the lungs, heart and prevent the onset and growth of cancer cells. Blueberries are also excellent for increasing brain function and prevention of brain illnesses such as Alzheimers disease, Parkinson's disease and hardening of the arteries. Another benefit of blueberries is that they aid in regulating the menstrual cycle in women, decrease heavy flow during the menstrual period and aid in the reduction of cramps. Eating just a handful of blueberries every day is all that is required to enjoy these benefits.
