The Top Ten Animated Movies of All Time

Rachel Heller
Movies are a part of our culture and they are a shared experience. Moviegoers seem to laugh, cry, and gasp at the same parts of a movie as they watch it together. There are many types of movies to enjoy as a group or individual. I like dramas, romantic comedies, musicals, and animated movies. In fact, I am such a fan of animated movies that I have composed a list of the top ten animated movies of all time. Some timeless classics are on this list and some new animated movies made the cut too.

1. Cinderella: This animated movie is a Walt Disney Classic. Who could say no to a Fairy Godmother and mice helping with ball preparations. There is also a handsome prince, a glass slipper, and a dress that is magical. I love happy endings.

2. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: A damsel in distress, seven cute guys, a poison apple and a prince. This animated movie had happy ending written all over it.

3. Lady and the Tramp: This another animated movie that shows that loves conquers all and it shows that class doesn't matter. In addition, there are loveable dogs and a romntic spaghetti eating scene.

4. Alice in Wonderland: The trip down the rabbit hole is pure fantasy and the Mad Hatter is mad in the greatest sense of the word. Moreover, I would have loved an invitation to the tea party.

5. Ratatouille: Rat meets boy and they both succeed as chefs. I love an underdog makes good story. Bon apetite. This animated movie combines both my love of movies and my love of cuisine.

6. Mary Poppins: Yes, I know that this movie is part live action and part animation. However, Mary Poppins is breathtaking. A merry-go-round horse race, a clean room via snapping fingers, and a tea party on the ceilings. Also, the music rock in this classic movie.

7. Dumbo: This animated movie celebrates that our differces make us great. I love a cute flying elephant and a cute mouse as his buddy.

8. The Lion King: The three magical ingredients in this movie are, Simba, Pumba, and Timon. It also has a great message about not running from your destiny. Moveover, I love the musical score.

9. The Little Mermaid: A mermaid wishing to human and making her dreams come true. This animated movie screams ultimate fantasy.

10. Finding Nemo: A little fish trying to find his own fins and voice is a great storyline for an animated movie. Ellen DeGeneres is funny as Dory.

Movies are part of our culture and they are shared experiences for moviegoers. Animated movies have always been fun to watch and some of them are either timeless classics or will become classics. See you at the movies for the top ten animated movies of all time.
