Psychologist
If you already listen to others talk to you about their problems for free, you might like to consider being paid (quite well actually) for that. Just listening to people talk about their problems is not exactly what Psychology is all about... but it is one of the most fulfilling careers out there.
For those who lack the patience for the education requirements of being a psychologist, consider being a bartender.
Marketing Manager
The salary and benefits will range depending on all of the positions available for a career in marketing. You can work your way into a six figure income as a marketing manager, and in most cases no college degree is required for this career.
Military
Building a career in the military is something that takes personal strength and loyalty, and it is a very noble action of service. You either have it in you, or you don't. Although the benefits and salary for a military career should be much better, considering the "job details"... the sense of personal fulfillment, some say, is unbeatable.
HVAC / Sheet Metal Worker
Working with sheet metal and/or repairing furnaces and air conditioners (especially commercially!) is one of the blue collar ways to bring in the big bucks. As with most careers: the more training and experience you have; the better. Heating, Vent & Air Conditioning can not be replaced by computers so there will always be a need for new workers in this line of work.
Software Engineer/Designer
If you understand the "fancy computer stuff" then you should consider this career. There is a growing demand for personalized software programs, and to summarize this career in two words: 'Bill Gates.'
Truck Driver
With a starting salary of $30k to $40k, trucking is an industry that will never be slowed down by any financial crisis or replaced by robots. The best thing about being the career option of being a truck driver is how easy it is to walk into this career, and how many doors open just for obtaining your CDL license.
Teacher
Teaching is another career where the personal fulfillment is much better than the salary. You will change the lives of millions of children, and at the end of the day you won't be asking yourself "Why" you're doing what you do... you'll already know.
Nurse
Nursing is a very rewarding and one of the biggest in demand careers. Competitive salary, better benefits, and personal fulfillment. (Note: Nursing is not just for women!)
Actor/Pop Star/ Celebrity
Some talents and career skills can't be faked. Professional actors, singers, models, and other celebrity forms are brining in the big bucks for their talents and their personalities. However, it is not a reliable career (your 5 minutes could end at any moment) and you have to deal with nosy photographers just waiting to catch a bad picture of you.
Writer
Even though my name is Caryn, you can call me Bias on this one. Writing is the number one, absolutely best career ever! The pay sucks. As far as medical/dental, retirement, investment, etc. benefits: they suck too. So why is writing the best career?
The real benefits are (of course) personal fulfillment. Just like with the military, you either have it in you or you don't. Writing is not something you can fake a talent for, or an interest in. But if you are a writer... you will never be happy until you turn it into a career. One of the best things about writing is that it is okay, and sometmies even benefitcial, to drink on the job. Cheers!
(Before I end this list, I would like to mention the only career not up for consideration for this list, one of the worst careers to consider- especially now- is to be the next President of the United States of America. I'd rather be Joe the Plumber right now!)
