The Top Ten Country Albums of 2009

2009 was a big year for country music. New artists were discovered and legendary artists were lost. There was stiff competition this year for the best country album of 2009, but here's the top ten of the year!

10). The legendary George Strait released his album "Troubadour" this year. As is tradition for Mr. Strait his music is heartfelt and genuine, making this album a must have.

9). Keith Urban's album "Sweet Thing" was a complete success. The single, by the same name, showed great command for the guitar. That, mixed with quality lyrics made this album a hit.

8). This was a big year for the Zac Brown Band and their album "The Foundation" it featured their mega-it "Chicken Fried". The song's fun lyrics and upbeat tempo made it hard for listeners to sit still while it was playing.

7). The Rascal Flatt had another great year with their album "Unstoppable". As if the title of their album were any indication, they were just that. Their single "Summer Nights" spent weeks atop the billboard charts.

6). Carrie Underwood had a good year with her album "Carnival Ride." It featured her hit single "I Told You So" which was a re-make of Randy Travis's hit song in the 80's.

5).Lady Antebellum released their first album this year featuring their name. Their single, "I Run to You" hit the top of the charts once on the air. The harmonizing chorus practically forces listeners to sing along.

4). Jason Aldean had a great album wit "Wide Open" this year. It features the single, "Big Green Tractor" and "She's Country". His melodic use of the guitar always means exciting music.

3). Dierks Bentley had a great year with their album "Feel that Fire". Their single by the same name scored them major points as well as their second single "Sideways." Their unique style and catchy lyrics earned them many fans in 2009.

2). Darius Rucker's "Learn to Live" Album caused quite the buzz this year. It's been a few years since his days as Hootie, but he is no less successful. His singles "Alright" and "It Won't Be Like This For Long" bring back his notable style and grace.

1). Taylor Swift's "Fearless" album comes in first place for 2009. Chart topping singles including "Love Story", "White Horse," "You Belong With Me", "Fifteen" and "Forever and Always" have come off this album. Not to mention the fact the CD was re-released this year with a platinum edition featuring new Taylor Swift songs.
