The Top Ten Most Deadly Creatures in the World

Brandee Teer
Ever think that frogs are just adorable? Did you know that a frog is one of the most deadly creatures in the animal planet? What others animals look harmless but are deadly?

Poison Dart Frogs are pint sized and won't turn into a prince if you kiss them. In fact, their backs ooze a slimy neurotoxin that is meant to keep predators away. Each frog produces enough of the toxin to kill 10 humans. Some tribes in the rainforest dip their arrows in the poisons on the frog to make their arrows deadlier.

Cape buffalos, when faced with a predator, charge head on. At 1,500 pounds, these large beasts come at you with two sharp horns pointed in your direction. The real danger resides when an entire heard stampedes in your direction.

Polar Bears might look cuddly at the zoo, but in the wild they eat seals for breakfast. If you were to get between one and its cub, your head would be gone with merely the swipe of the bear's giant paw.

Not all elephants are as nice as Dumbo and at more than 16,000 pounds they are deadly beasts. Elephants result in more than 500 human deaths per year and they can stomp on you or attack with their tusks.

Australian Saltwater Crocodiles may look like a log but beware. In the blink of an eye, this monster can pull its prey under the water and dismember it.

The African Lion has giant fangs; razor sharp claws and is lightning quick. These big cats are near perfect hunters and you ought to stay far away, especially when they are hungry.

The smallest drop of blood in the water can excite the Great White Shark. All 3000 teeth will be used to bite anything that moves in a feeding frenzy. These sharks commonly eat seals and a surfer resting on their board often resembles a seal so surfers beware.

Australian Box Jellyfish are also known as sea wasps. These salad-bowl size jellyfish has up to 60 tentacles each 15 feet long. Each tentacle has 5000 stinging cells and enough toxins to kill 60 humans.

The Asian Cobra isn't the most venomous snake but is definitely a snake to be feared. This snake is larger than the king cobra and is usually yellow and brown. Of the 50,000 snakebite deaths each year, this cobra contributes to the largest chunk.

The Mosquito may not look like the most deadly creature in the animal planet and must bites just make you itch. Some mosquitoes carry and transfer malaria and as a result cause the deaths of more than two million people each year. The female mosquito is the only one that draws blood and mosquitoes are attracted to standing water making them very common in underdeveloped nations.

Next time you're sitting down reading a book with your child about animals or swatting at a mosquito, remember that these animals are deadly and a force to be reckoned with.

The article does not claim to be 10 most poisonous animals. As the title states the article is about 10 deadly creatures.

You got some of it right, like the mosquito, but other examples, like the Great White Sharks, is totally wrong! Bull sharks are seven times more dangerous and deadly than a Great White Shark will ever get, literally! I think you got the word "deadly" mixed up with the word "feared"! Sorry I'm kinda rude like that, but are you sure you didn't piece this together from splenda packets? Think about it!
