The ABC drama, Private Practice, has enjoyed a wildly successful third season with high ratings and millions of viewers watching every week. With only three episodes left this season, fans are heating up the Internet, Facebook, Twitter with comments and blogs about a recent rumor that one of the major characters will be killed off this season. Fans will have to wait until May 15 to find out who dies or if anyone dies at all. As Shonda Rhimes (@shondarhimes) recently tweeted "Why do you darling people persist in believing every promo and every article you read? Just breathe. C'mon and breathe with me." Here are the top ten reasons why Private Practice is the best show on television.

1. Kate Walsh, recently named one of People Magazine's 2010 Most Beautiful People, stars as Dr. Addison Montgomery, a highly successful neonatal surgeon that is unsuccessful when it comes to finding love. This May, Kate makes her off-Broadway debut starring in Stephen Belber's Dusk Rings a Bell.

2. Amy Brenneman, the beautiful and brilliant actress, plays the role of Dr. Violet Turner, a psychologist dealing with her own personal psychological issues this season after a brutal attack from a former patient who stole her unborn child and left her for dead. Amy consistently delivers Emmy worthy performances each week playing the troubled Dr. Violet Turner. Amy is writing and starring in her own play this summer.

3. Audra McDonald, the amazing actress and singer, stars as Dr. Naomi Bennett, who is struggling to accept her 15 year-old daughter's pregnancy while trying to find love with two different doctors in her new practice. Audra recently performed with the San Francisco Symphony and is back home in New York for the summer.

4. Taye Diggs, the gorgeous actor with amazing body, plays Dr. Sam Bennett, ex-husband of Naomi Bennett. Sam is in love with Addison, who happens to be his next door neighbor as well. Sam and Addison have struggled with their feelings all season since Naomi is Addison's best friend and Sam's ex-wife.

5. Tim Daley, the handsome and versatile actor, plays Dr. Pete Wilder, the ex-lover of Violet and father of her child. Pete seems to have rebounded well with his relationship with Addison late this season.

6. Paul Adddelstein, stars as the loveable and sensitive Dr. Cooper Freedman, a pediatrician who is willing to go to jail to protect one of his young patients from abuse. Cooper has been in and out of a relationship with Dr. Charlotte King all season. Fans are rooting for Cooper and Violet to get back together.

7. KaDee Strickland, stars as the beautiful and straight talking Dr. Charlotte King. Charlotte appears to be cold hearted and emotionless, but every once in a while fans get a glimpse of her sweet and sensitive side. Fans are still rooting for a Cooper and Charlotte engagement before the season.

8. Shonda Rhimes, the amazingly talented writer, is the creator of Private Practice and Grey's Anatomy. Shonda's compelling story lines and the relationships and interactions she creates for her characters, keeps viewers glued to their televisions on Thursday nights.

9. The Supporting Cast, of Chris Lowell as Dell Parker, Brian Benben as Dr. Sheldon Wallace, Michael Patrick Thornton and Dr. Gabriel Fife and James Morrison, as William White round out this great show. And, newest cast member, the gorgeous Caterina Scorsone, playing the role of Dr. Amelia Shepherd, adds a whole new dimension to the show.

10. The Story Lines each week on Private Practice deal with real life issues that people face every day in their lives. The season alone has taken on the controversial and challenging issues of teen pregnancy, child abuse, eating disorders, drug abuse, experimental drug therapy, surrogacy and the right to die.

There you have it. The top 10 reasons why Private Practice is the best show on television.
