Are you struggling over where to spend your vacation? Location can mean the difference between an enjoyable vacation or a boring one. Consider this in your choices. Long Island, New York has a variety of things to do for all ages.

For the kids, nothing spells fun like some of Long Island's fabulous amusement parks! You know the kids can entertain themselves for hours running around such places as the Funzone. For the whole family, however, try Adventureland Family Fun Amusement Park. Like their name implies, they provide fun for the whole family! Are you good on your feet? If so, you might want to consider visiting Iceland Skating Rink, where you can create figure eights in the ice to your heart's delight!

For those of you with a bit of a green thumb, you might prefer the relaxing tour of Clark Botanic Garden. Or you could go for a relaxing walk in one of Long Island's vineyards. Long Island has some of the best vineyards in the world, such as Duck Walk Vineyards. However, if you're really looking for quality, you should visit Baiting Hollow Vineyards. You're never disappointed at Baiting Hollow.

If you like the aquatic lifestyle you can visit Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery and Aquarium or take a boat ride from one of Long Island's countless boating industries. I personally enjoy the aquariums at Cold Spring Harbor. They have a variety of interesting species to view. And they support fish conservation. You can't get much better than that!

If you prefer the city life and modern entertainment, Long Island has countless movie theaters scattered throughout it. They have all of the latest movies at reasonable prices.

Long Island is perhaps known best for the story of The Amityville Horror. Believe it or not, many say that it actually happened! Although the house itself has been changed, you can still go and visit the foundations. Even without all of that publicity, Amityville is a nice little place with friendly people.

All of that sight seeing can work up quite an appetite! Believe me, I have experienced it personally! You might want to stop and dine at one of Long Island's outstanding restaurants such as The Melting Pot Restaurant. They offer a variety of foods from many different cultures. I myself prefer Vittorio's' Restaurant and Wine bar because of my Italian tastes and heritage.

On the way back to your hotel you may want to stop at some of Long Islands' interesting museums. The African American Museum is a museum devoted entirely to the history of African Americans. I also recommend the Bayville Museum with their wide selection of exhibits.

Of course you are going to need a place to stay. The Seatuck Cove house bed and breakfast has fine service but I would go with Huntington Country Inn hotel. Nothing beats Huntington. So the next time you are stressing over where you should visit, consider Long Island, New York. It is one of the world's great tourist attractions.
