The fact that Toshiba mini NB305-N310 is able to run Windows XP (the NB305-N410 comes with Windows 7 starter version) makes it better to some people. Its price starts at 350 dollars and NB305-N310 netbook comes with 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor and integrated GMA3150 graphics card. The hard disk drive has a capacity of 160GB; 1GB of RAM. The Wi-Fi adapter and integrated webcam is also included. Toshiba mini NB305-N310 has got a one year warranty.
Toshiba mini NB305-N310 has the very same characteristics as the NB305-N410. The weight is the same (2.9 pounds) and physical dimensions (10.5 x 7.6 x 1.4 inches). The battery life is surprising too, it can last for nearly 9 and a half hours, however because of the long battery life, the netbook has a slight drawback: the back of the Toshiba mini NB305-N310 is bigger because of the battery.
Toshiba mini NB305-N310 has got a very comfortable, full-feature keyboard, whereas its previous versions have smaller and less comfortable keyboards. The space, shift and enter keys are very big and comfortable. In fact, the trackpad and mouse buttons are large and are easy to press too.
The screen on Toshiba Mini is bright and glossy with resolution of 1024x600 on 10.1-inch screen. Despite the low resolution, the screen offers truly nice quality with bright and sharp picture. The speakers are installed at the bottom of the computer, so it is sometimes hard to hear. Video playback is satisfactory; however the slow Atom processor fails to recreate high-def video smoothly, so you won't be able to watch full HD movies without any slow-downs.
Te system comes preloaded with Windows XP, Microsoft Office, Skype and other programs featured in the Windows XP OS. Toshiba offers its own software like Toshiba Bulletin Board and Toshiba PC Health Monitor.
All in all, the Toshiba Mini NB305-N310 netbook costs 50 dollars lower than its higher-end version NB305-N410. However, because it comes with full version of Windows XP rather than starter version of Windows 7, the Toshiba Mini NB305-N310 can be considered better in some ways than its predecessor. Off course, for 350 dollars you will get only low-end computer.
