The Tower Hotel London - The Location Can't Be Beat
The best thing about the Tower Hotel is its prime location in the heart of London. Many of the hotel's 800 rooms (including the room I stayed in) have spectacular views of the Tower Bridge and the River Thames. The view at night, when the Tower Bridge is lit up, is truly spectacular. The Tower of London is just a few minutes' walk from the hotel. The hotel is also in close proximity to the many restaurants along the Wharf. There is a subway station located within five minutes of the hotel, which allows for easy access to the many London tourist sites. I enjoyed my daily morning strolls along the River Thames. If you are a jogger, you will love this location.
The Tower Hotel London Amenities
The Tower Hotel boasts two restaurants, a lounge, and a coffee shop. The daily breakfast buffet is more than adequate and I believe that you can pay extra to have the price of daily breakfast included in the room cost. We chose to eat at the hotel's restaurant just one night. The food was good but not spectacular. There are many much better restaurant choices nearby along the wharf. The hotel has a gym, though I did not check it out during my stay, as I much prefer a brisk walk or jog outdoors (especially when exploring a city as interesting as London).
The rooms are air-conditioned and there is complimentary wireless broadband service. The hotel looks rather impersonal from the outside, but inside it is very nice. The lobby is large and my only complaint was the occasional longer than average waiting time for the elevator.
The Tower Hotel - Overview of the Rooms
The Tower Hotel has 801 rooms. The standard rooms are small, and a little outdated, but they are clean and the views cannot be beat. The pricing varies. I believe when we stayed the price was approximately $300 a night, but that was during the London Marathon and hotels were charging premium rates. Nightly rates at this time (April 2010) average around $230 per night for a standard room, which really is not bad for a four star London hotel.
I highly recommend the Tower Guoman Hotel London. It is an ideal location for both tourists and business travelers.

I never did an overnight in London, just day trips while I lived in Europe. Cheers :)
I love London Joyce... should be visiting in a couple of months as we stopover in Heathrow whenever we're going home to Malta - maybe I'll check out this hotel!
