Entertainment portrays an integral part of our lifestyle as a way of balancing out the stress and daily grind we tend to endure on a daily basis. As if living our lives in redundancy, straight from the set out of the comedic movie "Groundhog Day" starring Bill Murray, we are always searching for ways of altering this pattern. Movies, dinners out, shopping, sporting events, concerts and even snuggling up to a good book enable us, even for just a short period of time, allow us to break this vicious cycle. What better way of achieving relaxational bliss, enjoyment and having an old fashioned good time, than by being entertained by the Trans Siberian Orchestra.

Every year around the beginning of November, The Trans Siberian Orchestra takes to concert halls and arenas across the United States, fulfilling concert goers dreams, visions and realities with energy, musical prowess, lights, pyrotechnics and a story that encompasses the whole production.

When creator Paul O'Neil conceived the idea for a "rock opera" dimension implemented in Trans Siberian Orchestra music, he wanted to convey a progressive rock band style that would push the boundaries further than any other rock band previously. Following in the footsteps of such classic rock bands like Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Pink Floyd and the Who only on a more extreme level with a twist. Since TSO's inception back in the late 1990's with its initial album titled "Christmas Eve and Other Stories" the rest is history. Reaching double platinum status with their debut album and two more albums on the way in their "Christmas Trilogy" ("The Christmas Attic" in 1998 followed by "The Lost Christmas Eve" in 2004) TSO and founder Paul O'Neil were on to something special. On the heals of their enormous popularity in the studio, TSO infused their trilogy with their first non holiday CD titled "Beethoven' s Last Night"

The nail in the coffin securing the success and popularity of TSO was cemented when they took their show on the road back in 1999. Pyrotechnics, lasers, lights, awe inspiring musical talents and a story to complete this magical tapestry of sorts all providing the dynamics synonymous with The Trans Siberian Orchestra.

Their newest CD to date, "Night Castle" released in October of 2009 has allowed TSO to incorporate some new life blood into their concert ensemble. Currently, TSO is working on their newest claim to fame "Romanov" which should be out some time next year culminating an even greater wardrobe for this multi-faceted orchestra.

Providing such ballads as Christmas Cannon, Believe, An Angel Came Down and Old City Bar to the amped up smash hits like Mad Russian Christmas, Toccata-Carpimus Noctum, Siberian Sleigh Ride, Christmas Jam and Night Enchanted, their is musical diversity to put a smile on even the most cynical critic.

The combination of musical instruments such as violin, electric and base guitars, keyboard and drums and the voice talents provided by both male and female singers really sets the band apart from the standard musical concept. Factor in the story telling, lights, stage presence, pyrotechnics and energy portrayed by TSO and you really, have the best of both worlds.

This years concert date listing has expanded outside the United States to include dates in Switzerland, Austria, Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and the UK. There is also a rumor going around that Paul O'Neil is working on a Broadway Musical of sorts so stay tuned for follow up on that latest odyssey.

I think you will enjoy all that The Trans Siberian Orchestra is as audiences everywhere are drawn into the excitement sonically, visually and emotionally, where the show is everything you would think it was and everything its not.

Check TSO out for yourself! You owe it to yourself to be the judge and witness the magic, illumination and a musical tapestry that is performed by The Trans Siberian Orchestra.
